***In the long and unusual history of the Watchtower Society there are many doctrines and rules that would make one wonder if the originator of them was high on crack or just escaped from the loony bin.***

When I finally realized that three or four men, who lived in the early 20th century, were responsible for most or all of the wt idiocy it was easy to conclude it is all sheer bunk.

Charles Taze Russell, Rutherford, Knorr, Franz the four musketeer's of watchtowerdom. Understanding the magnitude of they'er power and influence over this religion is to understand the reasons for such loony tunes like the one you present.

They simply ruled the roost, whatever, whenever, they wanted to say or surmise any idiotic 'truth', they did so without censorship. Outlandish assertions on what God meant to say in the bible. Taking unbridled liberties with science and history to bolster or "prove" thier assertions were and are an everyday occurence, within the hoary halls of Brooklyn Bethel.

Today men like Ted Jarassss continue the tradition, hand picking other lunatics to carry on the tradition. All of the 'boy's in the writing dept' owing thier jobs to allegence to what the founder's of this religion asserted.

No matter how ridiculous the idea, when you present it as 'spirit directed' from God Almighty himself....pretty heady stuff.

The don't even need any mind altering drugs to do what they do best. Continue to expand and embelish what four lunatic's started way back when.

At the breakfast table Rutherford ranted about this and asked (more or less quoting Rudyard Kipling), "Why would any man want to get involved with a bag of bones and a hank of hair?"

Actually, he made a similar remark on one of the old 78 RPM records that they used to play at the doors. I can't recall which one, but I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere in the basement. Even back in the late 60's, we used to chuckle about that one.

By the way, since I never wear a hat, does that mean I can get in trouble for not failing to tip it?

This ranting about men tipping their hats towards women is insane! Saying that it one more thing in "this lustful world of Satan" is going way overboard!

Of course, this was written by men who also said playing chess is teaching oneself warlike skills, and that learning to speak Star Trek's Klingon language is an unscriptural waste of time!

These writer are really too much!

Both men and women should stay in the place God assigned them, in human relationships and divine worship. Only such as are content with these assigned places will live in the new world. Open or subtly disguised creature worship and exaltation will have no place there. It has no place with true Christians now.

Now my conscience is bothering me. I have been tipping my hat for years and the thought of going to elders and telling them about my past is eating me up. I wish you would not post such reminders. I was almost a ministerial servant and once I tell this.....they'll have me cleaning out the shitters in the Kingdom hall. Thanks alot dude!
