Competition between the gods was intense back in those days, each civilization thought they had the most powerful god backing them up, the ancient Hebrews were really no different.

no God (capital G)
god (small g) several referred to as that Psalm 82:6
Which ignores the fact that there are no capital letters in Hebrew. Have they ever addressed that?

Completely unrelated to biblical things but, why is this page appearing split up in this way instead of the usual post following post format?

That weird split is happening in a bunch of threads, I think Simon is working on it.

“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
11 I, even I, am the Lord,
and apart from me there is no savior.
12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God.King James-
10Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
12I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God -

Bible versions use different English words according to their usage at the time. BTW the RNWT is quote above:
10 “You are my witnesses,”+ declares Jehovah,
“Yes, my servant whom I have chosen,+
So that you may know and have faith in me*
And understand that I am the same One.+
Before me no God was formed,
And after me there has been none.+
11 I—I am Jehovah,+ and besides me there is no savior.”+
So you are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “and I am God.+
- NWT Reference Bible
- Isaiah (4 occurrences)
10 “YOU are my witnesses,”*+ is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant* whom I have chosen,+ in order that YOU may know+ and have faith in me,+ and that YOU may understand that I am the same One.+ Before me there was no God* formed,+ and after me there continued to be none.*+ ...
12 “I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard,+ when there was among YOU no strange [god].*+ So YOU are my witnesses,”+ is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.
