Doug I don't know how I missed this thread, but my sincerest heartfelt thoughts go out to all whom your friend left behind.
Amazing, isn't it? The promise they made was for everlasting life, not everlasting self-loathing.
Everyday that goes by, I feel more and more like Frenchy. They are evil and they will get what's coming to them.
It is not uncommon for apostates to kill themselves. Most notably, Saul and Judas come to mind. That's not to say that your friend was necessarily an apostate. But, guilt can be an enormous burden for some to bear. It's a shame that some are so faithless. / You Know

People commit suicide for many reasons - and the final one is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back - or pulled the trigger.I think the WTBTS magnifies many personal problems a person might have before/after becoming a jw. In some situations - the WTBTS is the probelem. Either way, hard living with self-respect & self-esteem as a jw.
