    Brilliant observation.

I guess it is the same as the public talks:

Intro for a 5-10 minutes about some problem in the world, then 10 mins of bible verses contorted to try and fit the theme, then 10 mins of utopian feel good magic formula solution, along with direct guidance on what each person must do in order to survive into the utopia...

As others have noted, this is 100% the formula. When i conducted the wt i realized the basic format and then realized the truth: i didnt need to prepare to conduct. Not even 5 min. Not 5 seconds. If i ever got a little lost i just had someone read a scripture and scanned the next paragraph. It was so simplistic as to be insulting.

The zinger is usually embedded in the second study article of the magazine.

Funny story. I was a regular reader for the WT study even though new in the truth. I had some college education, could pronounce all the words, and to be honest, was actually a decent reader. One day, the conductor spent over 20 minutes on the first couple of intro paragraphs and was pissed that we couldn't finish on time without just asking the questions. Even that went overtime.

At the end of the meeting he requested a meeting with all WT readers! He ranted a bit about pace and then I pointed out that the WT instructions were to spend a minimum amount of time on the intro material and get to the 'meat' as quickly as possible. I thought his head was going to explode!

I'm not sure if I would have been used much after that, we moved so I don't know.

They are a cult after all. There's probably a cult recipe book for such things.

In hypnosis we call this a "yes set". You get someone to agree with something minor, then get them to agree with another minor or ambiguous thing then they're more than likely to agree with the third because the brain likes consistency.
The WT are introducing a basic bible idea (yes), then another (yes) than a cult message (yes).

Interesting point, they build people up by making them feel smart, then if they really want to keep that feeling they have to agree with WT on everything. It fails when you don't even believe the basic nonsense anymore.

Pretty sure we can distill it down even further to "listen, obey, and be blessed".

I have actually got so good at reading there literature I can actually point to the exact sentence where it is either quoting something out of context or connecting everything though the book of revelations.

I usually find it to be two to three paragraphs of absolute nonsense about nothing. Two to three paragraphs of trashing other Christian denominations, two to three paragraphs of illrevant old testament stories then out of context or book of revelations time.

The entire reasoning book is written like that.
