Everytime I see some jw's at the door I think "Boy all that waisted time, when they could be drinking a beer." But seriously as long as there are people searching for something to fullfill thier lives there will be mags placed and return visits made. It would take something of a grand scale for all witnessing to cease...maybe aliens!

I thought Time magazine hit the nail on the head sometime back when it said of JWs: ``their methods are tireless, their message tiresome."

About the return visit thing, I find it surprising so few are made. In my youth, I always thought the more visits, the more chance of them becoming a JW - and wouldn't that be great. After all, that's the whole point of the preaching, to convert people. It was kinda depressing to do all that work, year after year, and see no results. Bringing somebody in would have encouraged me. Thankfully it never happened!
As for me, RVs also meant I'd place more literature and I always felt good about that.
Although there were some worries. Sometimes the RV would be handy with a Bible and I'd feel like I wasn't up to their speed, so I'd hand it over to somebody else or have other people along that could hold their own better than me.

Maybe Return Visits weren't often made because some didn't really want to conduct a bible study.
Is it possible that with 5 meetings, family, work, field service, that there wasn't enough time and energy left for a bible study with someone? Could this explain the lack of RV's?
You know how many questions a new study will ask, and how much research it is just to answer them.
