My DA Letter

    I've finished my DA letter which I'm planning to send tomorrow. I guess I'm just tired of the weekly harassment, and a few other things. Here's the link to it. It requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

    I cannot believe that they would counsel you over such stupid, insignificant nonsense. Not parting your hair on the side? that's insane. they are such control freaks it's unbelievable.

    First of all congrats! That was an extremely well written letter. If I ever wrote one it would contain a lot more explitives and probably have a bomb attached to it.

    My apologies for the blank post. Not sure how I did that. At any rate, that is indeed an excellent letter. Does it put you at odds with your wife, however?

    Awesome letter! Points succinctly made. I particularly liked how you tied up your criticisms with Elder A's talk and that you were heeding his advice.

    Aztec, I wanted to include the expletives, but I would have used up much more paper. There's just TOO MUCH I could say. I trimmed it down from 19 pages already. Besides, there's probably more chance of them reading it this way. Then again, maybe not. But I like your idea of an additional enclosure! hahaha!

    kgfreeperson, yes, it does put me at odds with my wife. Very much so. Even though she's inactive, she's still very pro org. It's too bad really, considering she's had to put up with a lot more than I have.

    Mr. SXXXXO,

    That is perhaps the best letter of dissociation I have ever read. It was certainly well thought out, to the point, and literate. There can be no doubt as to your intention, nor can the "elders" who receive it miss your point.

    I would only add, if indeed it is important to you, that you will consider any announcement from the platform - or gossip sponsored by the elders - regarding your standing in the congregation as illegal slander and that you will persue legal action against the elders personally. And of course, printed announcements will be prosecuted as for libel, and again the prosecution will be against the elders personally. When the elder's own homes and bank accounts are on the line, they can become most circumspect.

    Great letter, Mr. Sxxxxo, great letter indeed.

    It takes a lot of guts to write a letter like that and give it to them.
