Since I resigned early last year, I did not know where my "Pay Attention to Yourselves And To All The Flock Book" was. This weekend I was cleaning out my trunk and I spotted it. I thought I might share some quotes with you on this fine Sunday.....Page 35:"Do not try to get the brothers to engage in the field service by exerting undue pressure on them. However, encouragment is proper."......."Help the brothers to appreciate that participation in proclaiming the good news is a sacre duty, a requirement on which our life depends"........Page 68:" If elders do not become bogged down with unnecessary meetings, they will have more time for their family, for field service activities, and for shepherding the congregation."................MORE excerpts will be provided.

I'm surprised the PO was not at your door to collect the book. I think you should let it stay lost.

I was approached recently by an elder requesting the book and I told him I had no idea where it was. Yeru, you can get it on the net for free.

    Minmus,

I know, I know, but it's not the same as actually holding it in your hand...I guess that means no sale?

Well, it's got my personal notes in them. Alright, how about 1000 dollars?........OK, then let me give you another excerpt......Page 149:" If the wrongdoer or one accused is known to have strong feelings respecting an elder being considered to serve, it would be better that the elder not serve."

If the elders are appointed by holy spirit and they make the comment that someone should not be appointed to elder is someone in the congregation would take offense, then how can it be said they are working with the holy spirit in the annointing???

Hey, maybe the wrongdoer could say, 'ya know, I have strong feelings about all the elders. Yep, I despise them all' - maybe then they could form no commitee at all.
