I got counselled by an elder for reading my bible on my computer back in the late 90s. He informed me I could not get Holy Spirit from a computer only from a proper Bible.
I've been out so long I'm wondering if rank and file even get their own portion of Holy Spirit still or is it all reserved exclusively for the GB now?
With those major changes about reading from the computer, etc. Those little nitpicking things elders and the WT org do about every little thing NONE of which they can even quote a scripture for. Just shows how full of themselves they are and what they really mean to say is "Obey us or die", "Obeying Jehovah means obeying us meaning we are Jehovah, every time you hear the word Jehovah, replace it with us (the elders, GB, etc)".
Tablets and reading scripture from hand held devices go in the organisations favour...with one page, one scripture at a time in front of you, it’s easier to learn scripture out of context....if that’s all you’ve ever done.
And this is what it will be like for young JW kids growing up....
JW children & youth growing up with handheld electronic devices is in itself going to be WT's Armageddon and Great Tribulation all rolled into one.
You don't encourage kids to play with matches in the middle of dry brush... in the dry hot season & somehow the inevitable not happen!
Me wonders how high the percentages are of JW children and youth who have stumbled upon various types of pornography sites, anti-JW web pages and other internet searches that will only serve to bring on crisis of consciences early on in their lives...resulting in their questioning their faith earlier than if they had not been trained by 'Mother' to use these electronic devices that are meant for adult use or at least under adult supervision.
Way to go Watchtower Society...another shoot yourself in the foot dilemma!
It just doesn't feel like you are holding the Word of God when you looking at your smart phone especially when a few minutes before there may have been some porn on the screen.
