However, there are also freelancers, they have quite a different attitude...

One of the people I knew was a freelancer and worked as a call girl for an escort service. She was paid really well, but it still bothered her self-esteem.

Besides all the emotional, mental baggage being a prostitute would entail, do you have to kiss them? That would be the worst. Kissing some strange, horrid person with bad breath. UGH....

Usually kissing is not part of the deal. That only happens in the movies. It is generally considered by many prostitutes as too personal and they draw the line there. Ironic, isn't it?

Myself personally No. DO I think protituiton should be legalized and regulated you bet. It is the oldest profession in the world and it IS NOT GOING away. Therefore they should regulate it, Whore houses, monitered for Aides etc. Also, taxed. That would balance a few budgetes

I am a 'temple prostitute'. In my religion I often play the role of goddess and celebrate sex for its own sake. I am married now and monogamous of my own choice.

I got no problem getting paid for something I do very well and someone needs. But that is not how prostitution works now-a-days. But I have no inhibitions or hang ups about sex for money or the equivalent. And I have a very high self-esteem and self-respect. Today it is too dangerous and there is too much 'shame' associated with it. To have been a temple prostitute in ancient times I would have considered an honor.

I also have no problem going from religion to religion to get what I need...altho I can't equate that with prostitution. Only if you conside prostitution to be a shameful or wrong thing to do, and since I don't think like that--I don't see how switching religion can be considered that way...

And as far as religion, why not take what you need and move on? Who does the Grail Serve?

If my deity stops fulfilling me, then the right thing to do would be to move on. How can I serve if I am not happy about it? I don't make promises I can't keep or don't intend to keep. Things change, people grow. To not grow is to die. What good is dead to anyone, especially a god?

I agree with Berten. My husband had alot of experience with dancers and prostitutes and most of the ones he knew were just honest women trying to make enough money to get thru colleg on their own or take care of their kids that some guys left them with unsupported. They were clean and it was not personal. It was intimate, but not personal.

No, I wouldn't like to be a prostitute. However, I do think the government should legalize it. I have thought about taking one of those stripper exercising classes, where you get a great cardio workout in while working the pole. It sounds like fun!

Take a look at the pic with the pole dancer. (I think it's on page 3?) My proud hubby and Jesika's boyfriend Alex. *sigh* Now if only I could get him to do that at home.
