  Ants fight wars. I don’t know if any of you know this, but this came as a supprise to me.

  “ants employ propaganda, deception, and skilled surveillance and mass assaults singly or in combination to overcome their enemies. In extreme cases some fight by dropping stones on their enemies, while others conduct slave raids to increase the size of the labor and fighting force”

  “Battles among ants may involve a huge number of individuals. Many species use trail pheromones to attract workers to the site of skirmishes. Among European wood ants, battles may last for weeks and result in thousands of dead ants each day”

  Ants even plunder, or steal!

  “ Some ants will raid the colonies of other ants, taking the pupae with them, which once hatched act as workers in the raider's colonies despite not being genetically related to the queen. A few species, such as the warrior ants (Neivamyrex pilosus), have become utterly dependent on such slaves, to the point of being otherwise unable to feed themselves.”

  My thoughts on War:

  Except for ending Slavery, Fascism, Communism, and Genocide, war has not solved a thing!

  Really, so there is no slavery, fascism, communism (China would find that interesting) or genocide anywhere in the world, anymore, huh?

  Who made that claim? No one can speak in absolutes. That was not my claim.

  However, through examples of the Civil War, WWII, and many other Wars, Nations polices on these matters have been addressed and reversed to a better outcome for all. Appeasement only makes Evil stronger......as history has proved many times over.......

  Hey, soldier, you left a pile of bodies there in a country you only arrived in yesterday. What did they do to you?

  Have you ever spoken to them?

  "Of course not, Sir."

  Never considered that they are just like you, with families and children, and aspirations to build a better life in the face of a bloody dictator your army has flown in to defend?

  "No Sir."

  Ever read anything about this country you're in?

  "No Sir"

  Then how do you know they are your enemy?

  "My commanding officer told me, Sir"

  And who told him?

  "His commanding officer, Sir"

  And who's the commanding officer at the top?

  "The President, Sir"

  And who commands the President?

  "The PEOPLE Sir, we are a Democracy."

  How many of 'the people' just told you to kill that pile of bodies?

  "Well, one Sir"

  And who was that?

  "My commanding officer, Sir"

  And who told him......(Go to beginning)

  The point of this post is that humans are not the only GOD created creatures that fight wars. It was just interesting that god would create other creatures that would wage war, for there own personal benefit.

  Now as far as fighting for peace goes. There seams to be some misconception that the outcome of war can never be peace. But isn’t that the ideal of the great war of Armageddon? And something I always wondered about, the nations are supposedly going to make the clam of “Peace and security” before the end. Wouldn’t that mean things will get better before the end?

  As for not getting to know the Enemy before fighting him, there is no reason to, you are on the battlefield for one reason, and it isn’t for some grand social event. I personally feel that a soldier’s blood is on his own hands, as he makes an active choice to be there. After all, god did give every single one of us a middle finger.

  I'm a cynic...but mostly what war does is put a different bunch of jerks in charge (unless the jerks who were in charge win, in which case the same bunch of jerks are in charge).

  Lets see......Do I want to serve under a Hitler/Stalin/ Mussolini type, or an Eisenhower/, Kennedy/ Churchill Type...let me think about it, hummmm.........
