Pretty sad day yesterday. He had just finished a world tour ending up here with three days at the Hollywood Bowl just one week ago.
RIP.
Indeed Dagney, very sad. He had just performed up in Sacramento a little over a month ago as well. I chatted with folks who went to the concert who are deeply saddened as well. Monday was a rough day for everybody with the Vegas killings and Tom dying. I cannot even fathom the anguish that all those families of injured or deceased victims are going through. The only thing that helps me get through it is listening to music. Think I'll listen to my Tom Petty CD's tomorrow driving an hour and a half to work. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
Wanted to post several songs that Petty did on albums in in 2010 and 2014 which were really good, but folks might not know about. These first 4 songs are off of the album titled Mojo from 2010. Great album I highly recommend it .
Another song off of the album Mojo
Another reggae type tune once again off of the 2010 album " Mojo "
Another very reflective tune by Petty off the Mojo album. This song actually got me bawling like a baby as I was driving to my son's the other day. Very poignant lyrics.
And then the Mojo album ends with this great song where the solo guitar parts almost remind you of Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin- I swear. Tom was at a high point here indeed.
And here are 2 songs from his final studio album Hypnotic Eye this song is called Full Grown Boy :
And here's the last one I'll post , again off of Petty's 2014 release Hypnotic Eye titled " Sins of My Youth " - enjoy.
