    Hi everyone. I'm new here.

I would like to question those who tend to disagree with JW teachings, but still seem to believe in Christianity and refer to God as Jehovah. I always told myself that if I were to ever leave I'd stay out of religion all together, because if this isn't the truth than nothing is. Christianity in today's society is so warped that it's not even funny. The same denominations teach different things and it's filled with hypocrisy. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't understand what your belief is NOW. It looks as though you're still holding on to core JW beliefs, but with your own twist of interpretation. My question is why?

    Hello, Ariell, and WELCOME!

I'm not "holding on" to ANY JW core beliefs, and I think you will find that that is

common to most posters here. So to answer your question, I don't!

Hey, stick around, Ariell...and I for one would be interested in what brought

you here and what you believe.

    Cheers and "Hi"!

Actually, you'll find a wide array of differing beliefs. Those that become "born-again christians", those that search other non-christian religions, those that just become agnostic and those the become convinced that there is no god.

Some hold to certain beliefs of the JWs like no burning hell, no trinity, etc while others may accept the trinity or go back to celebrating x-mas and easter. Many will share their beliefs with you and friendly debate the issues. Others will be as stubborn or obstinate about their beliefs as any JW, while others may say, whatever you want to believe is fine too. Others will ridicule the idea of believing in religion or god or whatever.

I personally have become agnostic or maybe I just don't care, I don't know. I do know this, all organized religion and I do mean ALL, is not of God. That was the one thing that kept me a witness for years, thinking that they were the only ones that were not hypocritical. Now that I see they are as bad if not worse than others, I have no use whatsoever for religion.

That statement really made me chuckle.... like, you've thourougly examined all of the various beliefs in the world and have found them all wanting.... wow, you are amazing. That's a statement my JW friend makes. They were born into another major religion, but became JW in their 20's. Never knew anything else about other religions except what they've been told by the Society. Too bad they don't have the freedom to search and find what's 'out there', instead they, like you, are narrow minded.

Please don't take this wrong, I'm only saying you painted with such a broad brush. By the way, WELCOME...

A big welcome to you Ariell.

I don't think you will find two people on this forum who agree 100% on anything, especially in matters of spirituality.

I am a Baptist, personally. I am not sure you are right about all Christian denominations believing the same thing though. All mainline Churches hold Jesus as God (the trinity), and keep the holy days. I can't think of a single denomination that doesn't. I am not including JW's in this statement, because Christian means worshiping Jesus, a thing they do not do. Independant, fundamentalist churches have seperatist ideas all they're own, but still hold the tenets of the Christian faith.

Also, most all churches practice baptism in the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, partake of the Lords Supper with some regularity, and believe in Grace by faith, not works.

    Welcome to the board !

The Watchtower record speaks for itself. When you look at false dates, false prophecies etc you will see they have no credentials.

    I'd rather run it alone.

    Welcome once again.

I am not involved in any religion myself. But I must be honest I do hold on to some JW teachings. And that is probably because I do not know any better.

I have not done much research on any doctrines the JWs teach so I just hold on to them due to ignorance. I am in no position to debate the existance of God, Trinity, Hell or any other religious subject.

But from being on this board I learned that I cannot lump all religions into one sinking ship and put JWs in the life boat because like Double Edge said, we have not studied all other religions in depth.

All we know about them is what is written in JW publications.
