I had a Pony
She would carry me places far away, times yet to pass
we would journey to Winter, there protected from his wrath,
the cold would cloak, staggering the heat of his fury
the snows gentle mantle shielded the sting of his caress
equanimity lost due to his blinding fury
I urged my pony onto Spring, where the
bright bountiful flora, whose fragrance
did diminish the bouquet of blood that
found its way into our being day after day
In the tall blades of grass, where hidden we wished to
be as the diminutive creepy-crawly creatures
whose daily lives were so achingly simple
We wished to be small, insignificant and
invisible, staving off the sure foot of the hunter
who sought his prey relentlessly
Come now my little pony quickly we must disappear
lest he come before we transform
To Fall we must ride, there, the leaves that
surround us are as tears falling from above
And here where the tears of the trees
swaddle we will permanently reside
for so many years he ensnared, he fragmented our being
my mind ceased to exercise its freedom
conforming to the only place I know
his tender fury alone in isolation
I, with only him trampling on my tears in hopeless desperation
wishing I could find eluding dreams of my magical pony
to attain another destination.

How I wish as adults we still could exercise our imagination and it not be an exercise in futility .
Going through things I wrote as a child and not in the best of moods of late, thought I would share how my mind worked at age 11.
