I have fond memories of the Goons on both radio and TV. And i think the radio show was better because you used your own imagination for what was taking place behind the voices .
H.H.H was also a favourite especially the Blood Donor episode.
And what about Steptoe & son . And the Benny Hill show ?
Geez wer`e showing our age here aren`t we ?
How about the Jackie Gleason Show .that was another classic.

There were 3 elders in my last congregation that loved Benny Hill, probably because their wives ran their lives and this was a passive aggressive way to get rid of the pressure.
I did like Monty Python and saw Eric Idle on stage in Spam-a-Lot.
This show gave me a guaranteed laugh each week during a very down time at the KH.
Is that a parrot on the telly?
Or Ministry of Funny Walks.

How I longed for songs (hymns) at a kh that one could sing as Harry Secombe did in Abide with me.
Even the joy of the human voice was stymied by the wt with their stupid songs which were written to deny the manner and tone of the average voice and written I believe so they did not sound like any hymn.
wt songs are an end piece of what is always a long winded spiel. The songs are never seen as a form of worship.
