Even though (s)he said they would delete any reply, I was courteous enough to advise them that their message to me had been posted in a public forum complete with email address, so please feel free to correspond (if you can call it that) as much with this (to quote my friend Kent Steinhaug) "braindead moron".
I'm in the process of compiling some of the more vicious messages I've received over the years and am building a web page on my personal site where the true colors of "Jehovah's Happy People" will shine through. I'll let everyone know the URL when it's complete.

Its amazing the amount of ignorance some people can show, especially when it is directed toward you, personally. Whoever this person is, I would like to personally thank them for reminding me why I left the WT...
The quote you gave that was carved on your mother's coffee table, was also in Margaret Atwood's novel "A Handmaid's Tale," only it was carved on the inside of the main character's dresser. Does anyone know the origin of this quote, or what it was origninally used for?? In the novel, the quote was explained as being a schoolboy's joke.

Little story... When I was 19 and just disfellowshipped, I was full of piss & vigor, brainwashed into thinking that the abuse that the elders had just submitted me to was justified.

I started going on the Internet and researching the JWs. It happened by accident (divine intervention?) that I came across Kent's watchtower observer Web site.

I raged at him for his "disrespect", and his "misunderstanding" of the "importance" of disfellowshipping for the purpose of "keeping the congregation clean" of people like me. He said a few things that made me think, and then ended his post with "I'll pray for you."

Which hit me in the head like a brick.

My own family wasn't praying for me. No one in the congregation was praying for me. They weren't allowed to, because in "God's eyes" I was "spiritually dead."

It was the seed that was planted.

After getting reinstated and then walking away on my own, I'm happier than I ever have been. I haven't yet discussed my opinions with my family (Dad's the cong PO and Mom's a full time pioneer), but I don't think it necessary. They've asked, and when the time comes, I'll tell them it doesn't matter what I think about the JWs, what matters is that I love them.

I e-mailed Kent a few months back, letting him know what he had helped accomplish. He took no credit, just said

I'm truly happy my website has been to some help for you.

He's my hero. Him and Randy Watters and Ray Franz.

Isn't it something how typing on the internet can bring out the true nature of some JWs? I have noticed that they seem to be a lot more free in their feelings and words than they would ever be if they were around other JWs speaking there minds. The crap that comes out of their mouths. So christian-like! These are the ones that would be leading the "double lives" the Society speaks of if they thought they could pull it off. Then again, I guess that is exactly what they are doing isn't it, just on-line. Fred is a good example of this. We love to see him make a fool of himself, but I bet if he was in a group of JWs and speaking to apostates, he wouldn't even start to talk like he does here. The thread on the ones on a JW site (Witnesses on line?) on setting up a video on how Armageddon was going to destroy everyone and how it might happen was really gross. I would never have thought to do something the whole time I was in. I never liked to even think of such destuction of people and the destruction of neighbors and family not "in". I was shocked at how so few came and said how bad as a christain, that doing this type of video was wrong, and that someone didn't say, "Can you see Jesus doing this." I guess this type of behavior is more accepted today than five years ago when I was still going.

Same guy sent me hate mail a couple of weeks ago. I posted his email and asked if anyone else had recieved anything. Guess you didn't see it.
I actually got a couple of responses back from him, (after I wrote him) I told him I absolutely would have no exchange with someone who called names and wanted to be rude, he apologized. I have kicked around answering his return letter, which used a bunch of scriptures. Just haven't made up my mind yet.
Sorry he said such rude things to you. Glad it didn't get you down.
I asked him why he was frequenting an apostate site. He said I was really stupid, because I was calling myself an apostate. Like I didn't know what I was saying. I know exactly how the JW's would classify me and told him so. And also told him their classifications don't mean a hill of beans to me. LOL. The nerve of him calling me stupid. Stupid is as stupid does.

Hi Jim. Is that were your'e from. Lived there for awhile to small to remember much. Parents loved it. What idots and cruel too to resort to name calling. We had a new couple in our hall new baby and all, but they were interracial. I can remember if I counted on one hand how many loving sis. and bros, talked to this couple, Maybe it was our hall Jah's love hadnt made it there yet. But within 6 months this couple gone. By their fruits you will recognize them. Amen... nojw

Yeah getting email bombed (with much hatred likely by some if they follow the pattern shown here) will really prove something. NOT.

Me? I think I'll not resort to his own low tactics just for some fleeting feeling of revenge.

Jim: I am really sorry you get this type of attack. I am sure it does hurt. If you have blocking with your email package that could be some help so you only have to deal with each loser once.

I have always felt posting emails even from idiots is bad form and is really only useful in developing a mob to attack the sender.

Although I hold no hope out that such a braindead person that would write that crap has enough mental prowness to see through the WTBS facade, I still disagree with the above quoted suggestion.

My 2 cents.

Kismet, I think you may be misinterpreting my motives in posting the hate message and later suggesting others respond to the individual who wrote it.

Initially, my reason for posting the email attack was to prove a point. Jehovah's Witnesses put on the facade of happiness and friendliness, especially when out in field service. I cannot possibly imagine a JW saying such things to my face if they came to my door. With the inception of the internet, this has given many JW's the opportunity to anonymously show their true colors. We are seeing the true condemnatory mindset of the J.W. now, and I could think of no better way to illustrate that than by posting this vicious message. I want to add, also, that this message is by no means an isolated incident. I receive such "hate mail" so frequently it surprises me.

As regards replying the author, I have no qualms about anyone taking it upon themselves to do so, especially since I forewarned the author that his message had been posted in a public forum. I agree that it will probably do little good in changing the mindset of the individual, but it may make them think twice before they hit the "send" button the next time they write such a diatribe, thus sparing another ex-JW the aggravation of receiving such junk.
