Every elder who has heard of a report of child abuse, everyone in the gossip network who has been warned privately by their elder husband or father or best friend, to not let "Brother So-and-so" alone with their kids. Even the parents of victims who have allowed the elders and the society to bully them into sacrificing their children on the altar of the society's reputation.

They're all as guilty as the pedophile.

I can agree that most (almost all?) JWs would adamantly state how horrified they are at the very thought of child abuse in their midst. And I agree, in that I am sure they wish it were not so - that no child would ever be abused by one of their own.

On the other hand, I believe that the majority of JWs would rather see specific issues swept under the carpet rather than see it exposed to the public. JWs are a very closed organization and law enforcement and prosecution find their ranks difficult to penetrate. I've seen it first-hand. Everybody in the Franklin Mass. congregation were mortified - but not a one went to the police. They showed little concern for the victim (his daughter). They showed zero concern for whether anyone else may have been, or will be affected.

Very few would actually violate a child. Though very few would actually do anything about it.

Do you know which of the 6 million JWs worldwide are among the 23,720 child molesters on record at WTS headquarters? Brooklyn knows. The bodies of elders know. Why doesn't Joe and Jane Publisher know so they can keep their kids away from these monsters?

I do not think all "23,720" are convicted child molesters but alleged child molesters. Do you really think it's right to publish the names of those on the list who may be innocent? Not all accused child molesters are guilty.

Many of those alleged or accused child molesters are guilty too. You seem to overlook the fact that JWs are experts at getting their followers to buckle under the pressure of "not bringing reproach on God's Organization" so the alleged or accused child molesters are NEVER reported to police and the children who are harmed have to cover up these crimes against them, or risk their standing in the congregation (and subsequently their standing before God, to their way of thinking).

Justice Anne Molloy recognized the extreme high control nature of the JWs and included this in her decision in Vicki Boer's case.

How many of THOSE kinds of child molesters - the REAL ones whose crimes are swept under the carpet and are let off the hook because their victims can be intimidated with threats of losing their friends and ultimately the love of the God they worship - are among those 23,720, or are not even INCLUDED in that number because congregation members - including parents of the victim - were successful in intimidating the victim into silence?

I'm really holding back from giving you a well-deserved blast, because there are so many people here - myself included - who were not believed and were basically told to shut up about what happened to them. Your attitude is just as invalidating. I am not going to discuss this with you any further.
