Okay, guys, you HAVE to go to one just to take the mystery out of it. It's a party, that's all! Big Tex and I are not the swing-from-the-chandelier-naked kind of people (at least not in public), and we have had an absolute blast at the apostafests we have attended. We've made new and hopefully lasting friendships, laughed a lot, gave and received hugs. All fully clothed and reasonably sober. Jennie, our 9-year-old, went to the last one and the worst thing that happened was we ate baby octopi (we were at a sushi bar) and I spilled soy sauce on Big Tex while hitting the table with my sake bomb. Jennie thought that was really funny!
It's just a great way to get to know the posters on this board and share experiences with people who know EXACTLY what you've been through with the Witnesses and EXACTLY how you feel. Kind of nice!

I've been to mini-fests... I guess. Woudl liek to go to one, but when they are far away, it makes it very difficult to get there. Not easy to get a weekend sitter, or work off. If there is ever one around here tho I would go.

Although, I hear that all alcoholic drinks are banned at these apostafests
Good grief, Jimbob, WHERE did you hear that?????????
Princess' party is on August 2, at her house, just a few miles North of Seattle Washington. Come one, come all. I can invite everyone............I'm her mother. We had a great time last year. Good food, good company and lots of laughs.
Joy and Steve had one in April and it was really fun too.
Mulan (who happens to know AlanF might be coming)

Been to one full out fest, one mini-fest and hope to be able to attend the Green Bay fest and it's a 1200 mile trip! If you like to laugh, chat and generally be around people then I'd suggest making your plans to attend one ASAP. It's a blast to meet the folks from here that have spilled their souls out in these pages and see that they're all just regular folks (well with maybe an exception here or there).
Never know until you go.

The first time I went I really didn't know what to expect. I was looking for some people who invited me, but really didn't know me at all. I showed up that night at Pappadeaux's and met some wonderfull people who decided I was worth giving a try. Not even with one regret among them. I say go and see for yourself. I have travelled a good parcel in our fair country so far and have met quite a few of our flock...worth it from great meeting to sad departure... If you can meet people halfway or travel just a bit outside of your norm, then BY DOG do it! You make good friends and you extend the concept that yes indeed, we are everywhere...not just a couple of disgruntled individuals.
DFW...please contact xenawarrior about travel plans...she might be able to help.. contact me if you can't reach her.
Sincerely,
District Overbeer
