Why would a JW in good standing, receiving their approved literature every month, think that a free, open pro-JW discussion board would exist? Especially after all the recent warning about the dangers of the internet. “Pure” JW doctrines cannot stand in an open culture where everybody is accepted on their own merit. It wilts like a weed in the noonday sun.

Euphemism - Anyone who knows the English language should be able to figure out that "everyone welcome" means that membership is not restricted to dubs! Devil’s Advocate here, Perhaps JW apologists that stumble on to this site are under the mistaken impression that, left to their own devices, the “world” would have mostly good things to say about them?

That was tongue-in-cheek. My experience is that pro-Witnesses sign on here looking for vicious apostates. If they get rude enough, they get their expected lumps. What I find most frustrating, is that these determined apostate-fighters skip the words of kindness directed their way completely. I am left sitting at the keyboard wondering - could a JW hear me even if I shouted?

Hamas, We should welcome lost sheep with open arms. I am most satisfied to talk to those ones who are not baptized yet. Most of them are poorly informed about how restrictive the WTS is. They deserve to be fully informed before they make such a momentous decision as to being baptized in to the organization.

Many members, including just recently with Uknowthetruth, seem to leave us so soon after an unsuccesful attempt at telling us the org is the best place to be.

I got the feeling Uknowthetruth did not care about our opinions at all. UKTT seemed mostly concerned about turning around Particle “before it is too late”. Perhaps we are perceived as “doomed” by most JW‘s, and we raise the ire of JW’s when we go after their potential flock?

i knew immediately it was not a jw only site, b/c no questions asked. I've looked over some of the jw boards, and u have to answer a lot of personal questions. I saw northern girls post that she felt this site was deceptive, b/c of the name. pehaps someone can give her some links to jw only sites. She has to be active to get in.

i have no interest in debating jw theology. Most of the time i can avoid those threads, but not always, sometimes they are inbedded into a thread.

In my experience, most JWs do not have that firm a grip on the King's english, or anyone else's for that matter. When they see the battlement with Jehovahs-Witness over it, some dim light goes on way back in the even dimmer recesses of their mind and they have an Ah-Ha! experience, thinking this is one of "mother's" sites. Then, after looking around a bit, they realize it ain't so and they feel they've been had. In reality, it's merely a case of their limited educations coming to haunt them.

If this site indeed does "suck in JWs unawares" that is attributable to the results of their own choosing, not to anything we or Simon have done. Let them wallow in their own ignorance.

I suspect that's the case. Back in the days of witnet, when I was a loyal dub, I would participate in the "mature discussions" forum; not with the intention of trying to change the mind of most of the posters, but to try to "rescue" those who were wavering.

That this is not a site exclusively for JW's in good standing should be instantly obvuios to anybody with the brains God gave gravel....oh never mind.

But I think when you see such topics as "Scandals and Coverups" and "Child Abuse" that ought to be the first clue.

Perhaps more seriously, I can imagine the sincere guilty conscience of the brother or sister who has blundered here and now believes they have "Displeased God" and may incur the wrath of the elders . After all, to them it is about as serious as Pete Townshend being logged on to a pornography site and getting found out.

Yes, this deception makes us an evil, destructive cult. We should amend our evil ways and go to our respective district overbeers and ask for forgiveness.
