I have been in crisis regarding the international problem of the way child abuse has been handled in the WT organization. I have been dealing with serious health issues that made it necessary for me to go on permanent disability since 2015. Since then my health has gotten worse making it nearly impossible to attend meetings. In this period I have received no spiritual or other help of any kind. I have become isolated. This has lead me to investigate issues that eventually brought child abuse to light. I found that donated funds are being used to pay award damages to victims of mishandled cases. This, I found to be international in scope which deeply troubled me. Recently WT study articles have been printed in an effort to control damage created within the organization. This and other nagging issues have troubled me for years. Notably the inference made in printed material, talks at meetings and conventions that unless you are putting in lots of hours in service that you will die at Armageddon. I am on my 19th time through the Bible and find a loving, merciful God portrayed, especially for those who are “broken”. I get no contact from the congregation. I have no friends because of my situation. I suffer from chronic depressive disorder and have kidney disease and a bad heart. The way I feel I pray for death before Armageddon as I feel my chances are better.

I was in a similar situation 18 years ago, but it was involving my son. He spent a week in the hospital, and the had to spend the next month recuperating at home. He was not allowed to be around anyone other than the immediate family, to give his immune system a chance to recover without the dangers of catching something. Not once did anyone call or stop by to see how we were doing, not even to bring us spiritual food. The only thing they said to me was that I had better make it to the upcoming district convention.
To make a long story short, I decided to finally get in and research everything I could find regarding the Watchtower and was quite shocked about what I had learned. Also, I found someone (she was not a JW) that I could ask quite a few of those nagging questions and got answers. By the time I was finished, it was like a ten-ton boulder had been lifted off of my shoulders.
Something I want to mention to you, you said you are dealing with depression. There are quite a few JWs who while they were involved with the organization they were also dealing with mental health issues. Around a year after getting away, they found that those issues had cleared up, and they were the care of their own doctors.

I’m so sorry you are suffering inactive1, I wish I could come and give you a big hug! I’m so sorry you have been forgotten. Yes God is loving, merciful and kind and he has not forgotten you!
Do you have any family? If not are there any other people you can talk to? I recently stopped attending meetings and am fighting loneliness too. One of my neighbors has been an amazing support and I spoke with her husband and his bible knowledge and honest hearted search for truth was so suppressing. Who knew people in Christendom were searching for biblical truth!
Yes learning about child abuse and the many many other hypocritical actions of the GB is mind boggling, and very emotionally hard to deal with.
There is an AMAZING ex Elder who has a YouTube channel you should check out it’s called Beroean Pickets.
Well you are not alone WE are here for you. Sending you warm Christian Love!

With any questions you might have apart from this site I would recommend jwfacts .
You could also use the search option at the top of this screen
Getting an education about the WTB&TS / Jehovah`s Witness religion from people who have gone through similar things as yourself has done wonders for them .
I wish you well in the journey you have started
Take care.

Welcome Inactive.
Your first post is very much encapsulating how many have felt about the JW cult in general. At least be comforted in the knowledge that you are not alone.
I am now an atheist sort of agnostic type. To be honest, god or no god, it makes no difference. I just try to find peace in each day.
Certainly, the watchtower corporation is anything but loving. They are simply a big business and will throw anyone under the bus that doesn't contribute to the leaders living in luxury rock star status and financially fighting child abuse lawsuits.
I'm glad you have escaped.
An exciting journey awaits you.

Still Totally ADD
Hello and welcome Inactive. So sorry for all you are going through. You have made the very first big step out of a cult who could care less about you or anyone else. I hope you are getting help from a doctor. If so the next time you see your doctor ask if there are any support groups you could go to or a good therapist who knows how to help ones who are leaving a cult.. Many of us have gone through the same thing so don't feel it's you. Because it's not instead it's the mind control JW's cult we have all been victim to. You have friends here and we are so happy you have wokeup to the twisted thinking of the Wt. You deserve better and you are worth it. Good luck to you and take care. Still Totally ADD

My experience exactly, except more was added by an elder saying get your act together and get to the meetings regularly (although had been regular for years but coz of sickness and deaths in the family, and accidents was irregular). Boy could I have exploded, my blood boiled and this made me more draw away from people who say they love me and did not care to help me , support me, comfort me when I was so in need !
So much for saying we are all one body, spiritual family, international brotherhood blah...blah..blah...I have seen it all and am disgusted with it all.

Welcome Inactive 1.
Best that you keep some things quite like being on this forum. As far as I know God doesn't care if you and I come on this site and get into a conversation but your local Elders would.
I am not religious and resigned to the fact that I will live this one life and then I will die. I don't trouble God about it. It's just something I can accept.
More to the point I try to make this world a little better for me being here.
I have heard you we all here you and thousand more that you haven't met.
Come visit anytime you need to talk to decent people.
