Fantastic. I loved ALL of your letter but enjoyed this bit especially:

"While the Bible categorically affirms that Jesus is the mediator of ALL mankind (1 Timothy 2: 5), the Governing Body asserts that he is only the mediator of a small elite of Christians: the 144.000 anointed; and then these anointed place themselves as mediators between us and Jesus Christ. This is simply a theological aberration, not to say a blasphemy against Christ!"

    Bravo, Sir!

I really can't commit the necessary time today that would be needed to read it in its entirety. Sorry. And I hate to "rain on your parade", but I doubt the Elders read it either. (Maybe one, if he's already doubting things.) You've confused them with someone who gives a shit about "apostates", or even about whether the G.O.D.s might be right or wrong on doctrines or issues. Most just don't care.

If they were sincere, studious Elders, they'd have developed doubts a long time ago and they'd already have left the Borg (like you, me, and everyone here has). But I think it's very therapeutic to get it all down in writing as it helps a person to sort it all out and build the case (for your own peace of mind that you've taken the right course).

    Good luck!

Thank you for your words. I know it is most likely that this letter will not be read in its entirety. But I wanted to express exactly what I felt about this organization and only sinned by default.

When I have the audio ready and translated into English, I will also share with you (yes, I recorded EVERYTHING!).

TJ CURIOSO excellent letter! I also wrote a letter laying out why I left and 3 months later another elder who was on the body with me (who now has left, and told me how the points I made in my letter were the motivating factors in him finding TTATT) has left and is a good friend of mine.

Desirous of Change holds a view that seems to be held by a number of people who are scared to just leave in a stand up fashion.

Kudos to you my friend, KUDOS

I think "to sin" must be by excess and not by restraint. I believe that anyone reading the letter, either by the Judicial Committee or through the link that I have shared can have good results. Already today I received several positive comments, among which I highlight this:

"Carlos, your disassociation letter is so clear and pointed and rational while still being kind and empathetic, so inspiring. I sent it to my faded sister last night, who was still held by so much guilt, doubt, and self judgement from our upbringing. She read it and said it really opened her eyes and she no longer believes the jw religion is the truth. Thank you so much".

WT is all about CONTROL. They try to control what you do, who you do it with (even pillows), when you do it, but mostly they are about INFORMATION CONTROL. The #1 purpose of the DFing policy, at least since the early 1980s, is Information Control. IMHO, Disassociation gives them the same control as DFing. Curious JWs or doubtful JWs will still be afraid to be seen talking (sharing information) with you. No chance to drop seeds of doubt. No chance to make light conversation with them to show them how unhappy you are NOT.

So, ya see, I think that refusing to give them the easy way to gain control they desire is taking a "stand up" position. Of course, that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.....

I handled enough of those Letters of DA to know that when the JC opens them, there is mostly a sigh of relief that there is no time wasted dogging them to meet. It's over. Likely the Chairman is the only person who reads it (maybe), summarizes it in one sentence, and seals the envelope and tosses it in the Cong round permanent file never to worry about it again.

"I think "to sin" must be by excess and not by restraint. " --- GREAT QUOTE!

Times are changing in JW land and many people are doubting due to what is going on in the news and the time they spend on the internet outside of porn sites... lol

When I left I forwarded my letter to facebook friends and a number of people responded in a positive fashion. A few have mentioned the positive way it impacted them. Your letter was far more in-depth than mine so I am sure it can do the same and much better. IF there is a 1 percent chance that your words will plant a seed it is WORTH it.

I read 4 DA letters as an elder and each time they were discussed by other members of our body. You never know when your words can impact someone else!!!
