    From Kindergarten:

    Cat's Whiskers

    My cat has eaten herring

For weeks and weeks and weeks,

And now those little herring bones

    Are coming through his cheeks.

    "World's Shortest Poem:" (high school)

Some Thoughts on the Antiquity of the Microbe

    Adam

    Had'em.

    Fuzzy Wuzzy Genre:

    Ishy-Gooey was a worm

    Ishy-Gooey learned to squirm

Ishy-Gooey got on the railroad tracks

    Ishy-Gooey!!

    Or....

When I was down in Arkansas

I saw a saw that could outsaw any saw you ever saw saw.

So if you ever see a saw that could outsaw the saw I saw when I was down in Arkansas

I'd like to see your saw saw.

(I noticed that this one also works when you replace Arkansas with Little Rock (the capital city) and saw/see with rock)

    Or...

Tah Rah Rah Boom De Day!

    We have no school today.

    Our teacher passed away.

    She died of tooth decay.

We threw her in the pond.

    She scared the fish away.

And when we pulled her out,

    She smelled like sauerkraut.

I guess I still remember a few important things from school!

    Mary had a little lamb

she tied it to a pylon

1000 volts shot up its bum

and turned its wool to nylon

I took a poetry class last semester in college. Here's a cool poem by Margeret Atwood:

    You Fit Into Me

    You fit into me

like a hook in an eye,

    a fish hook,

    an open eye

    1st grade classic:

    Going down the highway

    Doing 94,

____(name of your choice) let a big one

And blew us out the door.

    The wheels couldn't stand it

    The engine fell apart.

    All because of ___

    Supersonic fart.

I never saw a purple cow

I never hope to see one

But I can tell you anyhow

I'd rather see than be one

It was six men of Indostan / to learning much inclined / who went to see the elephant / though all of them were blind / that each by observation / might satisfy his mind...

We sang this to the tune of "16 Tons".

If you're having school dinners better shove 'em aside

    A lot of boy's didn't and a lot of boy's died.

The peas are made of iron and the spuds of steel

If the dinner don't kill ya, then the puddin' will.

    I

Who's woods these are I think I know

His house is in the village though

He will not see me stopping here

to watch his woods fill up with snow

My little horse must think it queer

to stop without a farmhouse near

between the trees and frozen lake

the darkest evening of the year

The woods are lovely dark and deep

but I have promises to keep and

miles to go before I sleep

    Learned that in grade 8
