Tell me if I understand what you are looking for- you hope to read our letters to our loved ones that we wrote because we left the religion, to demonstrate the pain and loss.

    I don't have such a letter.

Ft2188 that's a heart wrenching story. It's so cruel the way you have been treated but I admire your bravery and resilience. You are indeed a wonderful person. Welcome to this forum.

FT 2188, welcome. Your story is so sad and is a warning lesson to anyone who is studying with J.W.'s or is thinking about doing so.

The WTBTS is an evil business corporation which uses religion as its cover. Their "religion" is run strictly along cult guidelines - total reverence & loyalty of the institution & its leader/s, unquestioning acceptance of everything they say, and willingness to give them your hard-earned cash.

Have a great life with your son - be a survivor and not a victim. Be a witness against the org whenever you can.

Get that degree girl!!! You're never too old. You are one amazing lady. I read experiences like yours and it just boggles my mind how abusively people treat their own offspring...and for what...to look proper to a religion. So sad.

Ft2188- Thanks for sharing your story. Incredibly powerful story of how this mind control cult Jehovah's Witnesses can absolutely tear families apart. I'm so sorry that you went through that. But many of us, myself included are being shunned and cut out of our adult children's lives or even our grandchildren's lives for leaving the JW organization. It's really criminal that many of us are treated this way. Your experience was even more extreme having to live out of your car and being homeless. My god.

I really admire you for writing a book and trying to help others who have been through these similar experience. And you are right - it will not only help others by getting their experiences out there too, it will be a healing force for you personally ! Fantastic job. Keep the great work up ! Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Wow, I didn't expect such feedback. This is great. Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I don't ever feel like a victim, at least not anymore. In all honesty, I have such a loving and happy life now that the girl in my story doesn't even feel like me anymore. I've learned so much about myself along the way and I've had to get to know myself in a more honest way and I've learned that I do not go down without a fight. I am strong and resilient as are all of you. We may have differing stories but we have so much in common as well. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this site.

to answer OnTheWayOut, yes that is basically what I'm looking for along with the story of their personal journey. To demonstrate pain and loss sure, but mostly to show human resilience. That we aren't these evil creatures that the society has made us out to be. It doesn't have to be a family member. A friend, an elder, a pioneer sister. There seems to always be that one person we left behind that still pulls at our heart strings.

Actually there always were a few people that we missed after we left. But in all honesty it was pretty apparent that they didn't want my wife and I in their lives be it as friends or family. And truth be told we didn't want them in our lives either.

Before we exited, some 50 years ago, I had talked to quite a number of the 'friends' about my questions. Now of course this was well before the internet, so virtually no one understood the real history of the WTBTS nor did anyone question anything the WT taught or rather dreamed up.

In those days most of us didn't even know what to question. For me it was the Blood doctrine and Armageddon. Those were the two strings that I tugged on. Eventually the entire thing unraveled. And we saw it for what it was. A dishonest and simplistic religion.

As far as helping someone out I prefer that they have reached a point in their life that leads them to a forum like this where they can express themselves openly and we can too.

The invention of the internet was the greatest help in the demise of the witnesses.

Wow, good for you for getting through that mess, and good for those like the girl that helped you when she found out about your situation. I did a podcast series about my life called This JW Life and now I'm helping others to tell their story on a podcast called "shunned". If you'd like to tell your story on it let me know. I release one each month. Feel free to pm me or email me through the website at shunnedpodcast.com and we can work things out.

    Best wishes on your project.
