The Office of Naval Research (ONR) has stated that the use of force fields to make a ship and her crew invisible does not conform to known physical laws. ONR also claims that Dr. Albert Einstein's Unified Field Theory was never completed.

Bit of a no-brainer, there. He was still working on it when he died. That whole article is a bit dodgy, esp. the parts where they start going on about teleportation and time-travel...

Read this years ago in a book about the science (or lack thereof) in the writing of H.G.Wells. In his discussion of "The Invisible Man" the author pointed out that anything that could make you invisible would also make you blind. If light could go right through you without hitting anything, that would have to include your eyes.
