Now.... in defense of my brit brethren, I always tell the Ozzies that its very cold in England so the brits dont sweat as much, so maybe they dont need to shower every day. Is that plausible? If you didnt shower here in Oz daily, youd certainly be on the whoofy (smelly) side.
So do brits shower daily or not?

I shower every morning and every evening and wear loads of deoderant, one thing I am NOT is smelly and I can safely say that the only time I smell body odour is on the London Underground and that is usually eminating from a foreign person !!!!

I always thought that the "smelly poms" thing came from the days of the £10 emigration to Australia - British people were placed in camps before they were housed properly, probably similar to those for asylum seekers now - these camps had limited washing facilities meaning that quite a few of the British immigrants were indeed quite smelly. Despite statistics to prove that the British are no dirtier than any other nation, the phrase has stuck.
As far as the teeth thing is concerned, yes, on average the British probably do have poorer teeth than Americans, you don't meet many people over here with as sparking teeth as Donny Osmond or even Email!
