Do Any of Anointed live through Armageddon ?

I've been trying to get some information to clarify the above question.

We know the change in the 1914 generation teaching that occurred, in 1995.

What I want to know is do any of the Anointed live through Armageddon.

Or according to JW teaching will they have all been taken to heaven before then.

I seem to remember back in 1995 when I was a JW having to review, with an elder, the District Convention where the change on the "generation" was first put forward.

When discussing what we were going to say the Elder asked what I thought the change meant. I said it looks like that the all "anointed" would be in heaven before Armageddon happens. He agreed thats what he thought as well.

If anyone can give me some WT references to that thought, I would be grateful.

The original thought was that some would live through Armageddon to help with the adminstration of Jesus thousand year reign here on earth but they would die a natural death and not have perfect life. This was what I beleive was taught when I was younger.

I cant give the refferences off the top of my head. But, early 80s we had a WT study that said some of the anointed WOULD live through the tribulation and go on to tread their enemies like chaff under their feet. This was still the official stance in the late 80s. However in the mid nineties they changed it and said the anointed would not have to be on the earth after armaggedon. In fact, as you have pointed out, after the generation change it would be highly unlikely that they could teach that some of the anointed would live through the trib.

If you have the cd rom, look up that scripture that mentions people treading their enemies like chaff, that will direct you to the Society interpretation. I cant remember where it is.

    Rbi8 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 ***

    we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep [in death]; 16 because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. 17 Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air;

It looks like they were supposed to have been "caught away in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" when he returned in 1914.

    Here's a recent quote:

    1/15/00 WT

    p. 13 "Keep on the Watch"

    Sixth,

the number of genuine anointed disciples of Christ is dwindling, though some will evidently still be on earth when the great tribulation begins. Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller. Yet, referring to the great tribulation, Jesus stated: "Unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short." (Matthew 24:21, 22) Evidently, then, some of Christ’s "chosen ones" will still be on earth when the great tribulation begins.

    Footnote ***

In the parable of the sheep and the goats, the Son of man arrives in his glory in the period of the great tribulation and sits in judgment. He judges people on the basis of whether they gave support to Christ’s anointed brothers. This standard for judgment would be meaningless if at the time of judgment, all of Christ’s brothers had long since left the earthly scene.—Matthew 25:31-46.

Is this another WT flip flop? Here is what I read in the mags:

    Keep on the Watch

    WT January 1, 2003, page 19, paragraph 5

...So our reviewing from time to time the Scriptural proof that we are living close to the end of this system will help us not to lose sight of the important truths regarding that coming end*. It is also good to take note of unfolding world events that fulfill Bible prophecy. One brother in Germany wrote: "Every time I watch the news - the wars, the earthquakes, the violence, and the contamination of our planet - it drives home to me the nearness of the end."

*It may be helpful to review the six lines of evidence indicating that we are living in the “last days” that were outlined on pages 12-13 of the January 15, 2000, issue of the Watchtower 2 Timothy 3:1

    Six Convincing Lines of Evidence

    WT January 15, 2000 p. 12, 13 paragraph 13-18

18 Sixth, the number of genuine anointed disciples is dwindling, though some will evidently still be on earth when the great tribulation begins. Most of the remnant are quite elderly, and over the years the number of those who are truly anointed has been getting smaller. Yet, referring to the great tribulations, Jesus stated: “Unless those days were cut short, no flesh could be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.” (Matthew 24:21, 22). Evidently, then, some of Christ’s “chosen ones” will still be on earth when the great tribulation begins.

From this I infer that the current WT stance, though fuzzy on the dates, is that the time of the end will come before all anointed have passed away. Note, however, that the number of professed anointed has remained steady at 8,000 for years, with little variation.

This has been pointed out before, but notice how the WTS truly judges the heavenly hopes of a number of partakers as false.

I don't remember the current numbers, but these are from another post.

    1992: 8683 partakers

    2000: 8755 partakers

According to the WT, the number of real partakers went down, therefore at least 73 were judged as not actually genuine partakers, and to be more accurate, you'd have to add the numbers of anointed who actually did die to get closer to the real number that the WT has judged to be mistaken.

I seem to remember learning that they would all die before the end but then again I never really paid attention at the KH anyway.
