I strongly suspect most higher ups know full well the 1914 doctrines are wrong. That the dates are wrong when Jerusalem was destroyed. There are so many other doctrines that would have to have new light once it comes out that it was all wrong.
The overlapping nonsense bought them some time, if they didn’t think of that then it would be blatantly obvious it was all wrong.
The only question is how long can they postpone announcing an updated understanding?
How long before the overlappers get too old?
Could they try the technique they often do and try to hide and change the past by deleting articles and videos that ever talked about it? Unlikely as they still push the 1914 in the newest publications.
Must like they will have to do a U turn on pushing vaccines and wish they were neutral about them they may try to say all along we were neutral we never encouraged anyone to take them! But still you need to be fully vaccinated to go any of the schools or building projects.
The next few years will be very interesting.
Maybe the higher ups think they will all be too old or have died by the time the storm comes when it’s blatantly obvious they were wrong about 1914 and wrong about not staying neutral when pushing vaccines.
But these new younger members of the GB maybe still alive when they have to cope with the fallout and release new light about their old doctrines

"Millions now living will never die" was from Rutherford's speech at the 1922 convention, if memory serves. I think it was modified to "may never die" at some point in order to soften the impact, though they also decided to forget Rutherford's predictions regarding the return of the 'worthies' in 1925, which would presumably precipitate the end. When that is taken into account, you can understand why he was so confident in his 1922 claim.
Then he got it wrong, and most of it was either forgotten or modified (and then forgotten).
