When you begin to understand the abomination that causes desolation you will understand that these teachings of God is angry, God is vergeful, God kills, hell, armageddon, ect sitting in the "Holy Place" you will begin to understand these destructive teachings are in the place where God is supposed to be. One more is everything wrong is always blamed on God. If we would take the time to look through the Concordances we could find out the original scriptures and come to understand that God is unconditional love and that these destructive teachings need to go otherwise how could there be two resurrections-one for the just and one for the unjust. Another good Bible reference is the Lexicon. It gives the scriptures that are referred to. I have done this and have found much comfort in this physical life of much pain-more than anyone could imagine. All the people that have been killed or committed suicide will have another chance on the earth after the one thousand year reign of Jesus who will return with his 10,000 (many many) saints to CONVINCE the UnGodly. Acts 24:15. And he will rule with an iron hand. I looked up rule in the Lexicon and was referred to Revelations 7:17 for the lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and lead them into living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Then "all nations" will be called a "nation under God"

Here's part of an essay I wrote on Daniel chapter 11.

After his defeat by the Romans, Antiochus IV turned his attention to the province of Judea. Antiochus sold the office of high priest and persecuted the Jewish people to conform to Greek culture, faith and traditions. He set up an image of Zeus at the temple altar, demanded sacrifice to it and later desecrated the temple by sacrificing a pig on it. 1 Maccabees 1:57 states that "On the fifteenth day of the month of Casleu, in the hundred and forty-fifth year, king Antiochus set up the abominable idol of desolation upon the altar of God". This date was in December 167BCE.

Most of Daniel 11 is a precise summary of the Syrian wars between Egypt and the Seleucid empire up until the time of Antiochus IV Epiphanes, written in a visionary style common with Jewish writers of the time. The writer then gets in trouble by trying to predict the end of Antiochus and gets his death completely wrong.

The book of Daniel is similar to many of the Dead Sea Scrolls such as the Habakuk Commentary where the author takes earlier bible prophecies and applies them to his particular time period i.e. the second century BCE. These authors also believed they were in the 'last days'. So at Daniel 11:30 the author is saying that the 'ships of Kittim' prophecy at Numbers 24:24 was fullfilled when the Roman fleet under Caius Popilius Laenas destroyed Antiochus IV Epiphanes fleet in 168BCE. So these verses are meant to be fullfillment of prophecy rather than being prophecy about the future.

Basically the abomination was the pig sacrifice and temple desecration, and has nothing to do with any other event.
