Understand im not bashing the concept of having a care home solely for JWs. I can understand from when i was an indoctrinated JW that the more uber JW folks would like to live in a little commune with only JWs.

But my concern is, and was even back then, that if a resident or staff member is disfellowshipped would they be "advised" to leave? If i were sacked for being DF'd, or victimized for it i'd take them to court on unfair dismissal charges.

Of course, if i do manage to reach the age of 70+ and suffering from a debilitating condition i intend to live out my twilight years high as a kite.

This outfit started up about 20 years ago. I believe the fella who came up with idea was named Delaney. The original idea was that it was to be a home for long-serving JW's in extremely good standing. My momma was flattered to have been told that she was on the short list and that if she became infirm, she would be provided for.

She visited a home once and left as fast as her theocratic little legs could carry her, totally disillusioned as I recall.

I had limited (personal) dealings with the home in Cumbria, north-east England several years ago.

It's separated from the local KH by a private gate, through which the paying residents are escorted to attend the meetings.

On my first visit, I was immediately struck by the internal drabness and run-down condition of the place, and how the RBC could have performed a good charitable work by renovating it. Definitely not a place I'd consign a loved one to.

I believe that that one is independent of the OP's Jah-Jireh homes

    As I understand it:

Jah-Jireh Charity Homes (AKA Eddie Delaney) runs the care homes in Wigan, Leyland, Blackpool and Methyr

Miss Joanna Hindmoor runs the care home at Maryport, Cumbria

Philia Lodage in Peterborough used to be a Jobo rest home. Mainly Jobos used to work there.

I believe the owners used to run the Jah Jireh home in Blackpool.

It's all changed now. There are a few Jobos and Jobo workers there but it's now mainly 'worldly(tm)' people.

I seem to recall someone posted a government inspection report of one of these homes that was less than flattering.
