So here is something I've been wondering about. How do the 'anointed' come to the conclusion that they are chosen? Is it some weird collective delusion of grandeur and how is it manifested in such ones?
Im especially curious as my hall has 2 'anointed' ones and they are both kind of weird in terms of personality and mannerisms. Thoughts?
I think they have little tingly experiences and conclude they are now of the spiritually enhanced royalty class.
Maybe they hears a voice in their heads telling them they are special. I'm sure Anthony Morris III thinks he's got a direct line as to how Jehovah feels on any given subject no matter how mondaine, and according to him Jehovah finds men wearing tight pants disgusting. How does he know? Must be a little voice he hears in his head while it's up his ass.

I was always told that they got to know a "special song" that only anointed ones would just spontaneously get in their head and that would be their evidence of being a chosen one. This was because of Revelation 14:3
3 And they are singing what seems to be a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, and no one was able to master that song except the 144,000, who have been bought from the earth.
A special song? I've never heard of that. I always thought it was a hush hush thing and that you can't ask em. And then I was curious how in 2017-2018 my single congregation happened to have 2 anointed lol

When I was in the religion I never paid attention to any so-called anointed.
There is really no way to prove that anybody is or is not. Everybody is supposed to take their word for it. So, what is the purpose of somebody coming out and proclaiming that they are one? Even if this were supposedly true, what importance is this supposed to be while they are alive on the earth?
If it is, as I suspect, a way for certain individuals to get special attention, respect or money out of people - I have NO tolerance. It's a good thing that I'm not in the religion anymore because I would have to restrain myself from being very rude to these fools.
My grandfather was supposedly of the anointed. The way it was explained to me (and this was decades ago) was that the anointed didn't have an earthly hope- when they thought of their hope in their head, it was in heaven. The thought of being with their loved ones on the earth didn't appeal to them. As opposed to the rest of us who really wanted to be in paradise on earth. As other posters have mentioned this was highly subjective and could not be proven.
In the 90's the people who partook in my old congregation were all of questionable mental capacity so I don't know if anyone even really took them seriously.
The more i study the bible and especially the new testament, I don't think any sincere student of the bible can possibly accept all these dubious connections to the book of revelations.
JW theology is basically a belief the entire new testament and Jesus dying on the cross was essentially just for anointed Christians.

My experience with those who claimed to be "annointed" was that they were very definitely affected by mental illness. One in particular that I can think of still requires intensive psychiatric treatment, 30+ years after first "partaking of the emblems."
Those who regularly work with the mentally ill are generally in agreement that mental illness has number of common characteristics. One of these is deep religiosity, and another is having delusions of grandeur. Not, of course, that all religious people are necessarily mad! However, religion together with mental illness is not a good combination.
