Will Watchtower “simplify” the baptism arrangement at circuit assemblies?

Occasionally, the baptismal talk is given, but nobody gets dunked. That must be embarrassing for Watchtower and create some cognitive dissociate for those attending.

Surely that is not the case nowadays is it ?

How insane would that be give a 30 min.talk on Baptism and no baptismal candidates are their ?

Why would they even do that ?

These no-show baptism candidates at these large venues are a constant reminder to the JW community that there is something terribly wrong in this 'Spiritual Paradise' today!

That is the only consolation I can find .Maybe the penny will drop on those that can see the stupidity of this organisation having a Baptism talk when their are no baptismal candidates.

    Not necessarily.

Actually, it would be insane, if the one giving the talk asks the baptism candidates to stand and then finds on the stage itself that there is no candidate there to stand up.

Usually, when there is no baptismal candidate, then CO informs the one assigned with the talk much in advance and he changes the talk and prepares it as a normal talk dealing with the subject of baptism and to encourage the unbaptized publishers sitting in the audience. So nothing insane with this.

It is as simple as having a talk on disfellowshipping or divorce even if there are no such cases in the audience or the congregation.

I believe Stephen Lett is developing a JW baptism app to download on your smartphone or tablet called "bAPPtism".

If there were year after year of no one getting baptized at CAs, all over the world, then maybe.

But so far, "0 baptisms" seems to be a rare occurrence. And in countries where JWs are still growing significantly, I'm sure there are typically dozens baptized at a CA.

Just because you personally have seen or heard of an isolated CA here or there in the US or UK where no one was baptized, that is not an indication that there is a worldwide trend.

    Always a possibility.

One rumor had it that instead of the expense of setting up a pool, the circuit will simply have the person run through the nearest car wash.

Now RubaDub, that is an utterly silly thing to say; JWs never run, they meander - especially when door-knocking. So baptismal candidates will meander through the carwash.

    steve2 ...

I guess I was being overzealous in my car wash / baptismal thoughts.
