WHEN is the kingdom of God coming?

On being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God was coming, he answered them: “The Kingdom of God is not coming with paratherisis; 21 nor will people say, ‘See here!’ or, ‘There!’ For look! the Kingdom of God is in your midst.” —Lu 17:20,21

Jesus' followers asked a similar question, as recorded in Acts 1: 6. Time and timing is the domain of the creator/father.

The universe is ruled with very successful laws. Jerusalem, ~ 2000 years ago was no exception, --stories of breaches of these laws, better defined now than then, such as walking on water, water turning into wine, cemeteries emptied, -- notwithstanding.

As written by Luke, Jesus was stating the obvious.

Daniel 9:25 predicted the date of the Messiah’s arrival (WHEN). The book of Daniel in poetic language also predicted the “second coming” —or the Parousia.

    arrival (WHEN).

With some wt writers priding themselves as latter day members of the original "governing body" class, it follows that the injunction, that "it is not given to you to understand time and timings" given to the original 11, applies to the governing body today. . That assumption is proven by their 100% failure rate on that subject matter.

What is bring red into Daniel could apply to that exclusion note too.

Hopefully something better will rise from the ashes, Dinosaurs sudden demise proves an encouraging precedent.

As one reads Matt 24 it destroys the whole concept of Adventism , from which JWs have come. The idea of predicting when he would return was spoken against bt Jesus. He said to keep on the watch …. never knowing when the day would come . Just be ready, whenever.

Ah yes, BB, the well-trodden path through Matthew 24 !

Yet curiously seldom do they comment, let alone highlight, the very first part of the “sign” in verse 4.

I guess it would incriminate them, eh? 🤔

In verses 4-5, 11, and 24, Jesus warns against being lead astray by people peddling false claims. And elsewhere, he had warned them against trying to figure out when the end would come. You almost think he was referring specifically to the WTS.

Jesus, on the subject of the parousia in Matthew 24, says to his disciples:

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father..... they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.....42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Depends on how you read because Daniel predicted 7x and his first coming. In M24 Jesus was referring to the climax of his parousia ( not knowing the day and hour) Obviously because nop point in keeping on the watch and he ver shows up because it ain’t the season. Also Jesus have signs pertaining to the generation of this return.
