Hi all - thought you might be interested in the instructions for the answer sheet for the new meeting - full document to follow:-

"Our Christian Life and Ministry Meeting Answer Sheet
FOR USE BY MEETING CHAIRMAN FOR WEEKS OF JANUARY 4-25, 2016
SOURCE MATERIAL: New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures [nwt] and The
    Watchtower [w].
INSTRUCTIONS: These review questions correspond to material found in Treasures
From God’s Word. Well in advance, the meeting chairman should ensure that the
elder or ministerial servant assigned a part during Treasures From God’s Word will
consider the question and answer for the week. During the meeting the chairman
should pay careful attention in order to verify that the question is answered correctly
by the audience. If necessary, he may clarify the main point or highlight reasons for
the answer or briefly comment on how the material can be applied. Of course, any
answers given by the audience that are appropriate and in harmony with our present
understanding are acceptable, even if the point is not found on the answer sheet.
During the three-minute conclusion of the meeting, the chairman should briefly
review the question and answer from the current week, and he may mention the
question for the following week as part of the preview.
The date in brackets represents the week that the material will be covered."

The amount of control they are using is staggering!

    Unbelievable.

They clearly hold the rank & file in utter contempt.

They appear to be thoroughly convinced that JWs are astoundingly stupid and could not possibly determine the "correct" understanding unless it is pre-chewed, regurgitated, mashed, and macerated into a thin gruel.

    Indeed it is staggering SF...

Q1 What is the most practical step we can take to prepare for future difficulties?... w13 11/15 p20 para 17

"... We must all be ready to obey any instructions that we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not. Now is the time for any who may be putting their trust in secular education, material things, or human institutions to adjust their thinking."

Q2 What encouragement can we draw from Josiah's example?

"... Josiah's repentant grandfather, Manasseh, may have exerted a positive influence on him," ... !!!!!!!!! (exclamation marks mine.)

Q3 Contains ... "and make voluntary donations to further the ... work."

Q4. Blah blah "threat of intermarriage" blah blah

They appear to be thoroughly convinced that JWs are astoundingly stupid and could not possibly determine the "correct" understanding unless it is pre-chewed, regurgitated, mashed, and macerated into a thin gruel.

Well that's not necessarily the reason for their concern here, and they tacitly acknowledge the problem:

Of course, any answers given by the audience that are appropriate and in harmony with our present understanding are acceptable

The fact is that they change doctrine so damn often that a lot of JWs just can't keep up with it all and fall back on "past truths" that are apparently no longer true.

But there's definitely a fair amount of just genuinely not being able to keep up with the nonsense doctrine without the constant changes. One of my favorite examples was when an elder referred to peter as "the rock on which Jesus founded his congregation" I was in the process of trying to leave so I didn't want to make waves, but I really wanted to let him know that he was parroting the catholic understanding of that scripture but the GB approved doctrine is that Jesus was referring to himself when he said "this rock."

Next they will be required to wear jworg-blue robes and chant the answers in a monotone.

Any answers that are in harmony with our present understanding? Really, if you are paying attention when you read that, wouldn't a light bulb go on in your brain, like, wtf?? how many understandings of this have we had? There is no waking these people up!

It would be funny for someone to answer the questions with OLD understanding instead of PRESENT understandings.

If anyone says something about it, just respond; "Oh, I thought what I said was present understanding, i'm sorry, I have been suffering for a short term memory deficit."

"Present understanding" not only confirms that there were (possibly many) other understandings in the past, but also strongly implies that there will be even more & different "understandings" in the future.

If "truth" is so malleable, why bother to even learn what the "present understanding" is? It will all change tomorrow anyway.

If you look up 'micromanage' in the dictionary it says "see Watchtower Bible and Tract Society".
