Do any of the governing body of JWs exercise their conscience?

  The members of the governing body, by being at the reins of a large corporation, must be confronted with situations which force them to think about the validity of their doctrines.

  The Australian Royal Commission hearing must have highlighted for the GB, especially Jackson, the rational inconsistency of using an Iron Age dictum of "two witnesses" in a world which has moved beyond such rough justice. Today we have a scientific approach, we examine forensically, we have psychologists who can tell us about individual's minds and behaviour. Today, children's voices are not ignored.

  The first and last resort of JWs and their leaders is the doctrine of the "Inerrancy of the Bible". It is a belief which is unsubstantiated by fact. When pitched against rational thinking and practice, the Bible comes out as completely out of date and virtually useless.

  I really wonder how many of the GB know this?
  

  Who will be the next to resign as a matter of conscience?

  there have been rumours about Samuel Herd not believing a word of it any more, but would he resign at his age? not a chance, the latest rumour I've just been reading is that Lett could be forced out, not because of his religious standpoint more than likely the utter embarrassment he causes them, will we see another Ray Franz? I dont see it, these latest group of GB members carry less power now than they ever have had since the formation of the big group in the early 1970's

  GB. Member resign? No way , all moved or moving to "apartments" at Warwick, not "bethel room". Too much to lose, just keep in line and nod at whatever Splane puts forward, no one is going to examine THEIR faith so just keep getting the Kool Aid ready.

  In fact, I don't think any members of the GB do any exercise at all.

  I think they just sit there, either in bed or at the bethel table, and various lackeys and sycophants wash them, dress them, feed them, clap at their talks, and give them green handshakes.

  No. The GB are old egomaniacs that are out of touch with reality. And how could they not? They've had infinite power over the lives of 8 million people for decades. The lower ranks has them completely gassed up, and as a result, they remove anyone who has the slightest criticism. Maybe they did have a conscience once upon a time, but it's definitely withered away after all this time.

  I doubt at their ages they would voluntarily resign from anywhere - even a secular job.

  Unless they have a family fortune, they will have to start over, go out and get a job and work like the rest of the world. I think hell would freeze over first.
