  By invite only!

  My JW spy tells me that this is in St Paul's Road, Peterborough.

  As far as I can tell, he tells me some corporation bully boy is coming over from Bethel. So, the local JWs have been tasked to clean it so it's fit for this visiting dignitary.
  

  Of course there are only a certain amount of invites available and nepotism rules. Some who have been faithful for years, have not been given an invite. However, the family and friends of the BOE (most of whom are all related by blood and marriage), have been given pride of place.

  I wonder how long before this hall is sold?

  Since when have the KH dedications been by invitation only? I thought that this was a "congregation celebration" of sorts...? I mean, they'll all be using the hall, so why can't they all attend? What kind of cigar club bs is this crap?!

  As for the building used...when was buying an old church building from the Beast ok? ESPECIALLY for a KH. I wonder if there will be conspiracy theories about demons still being in the building or something. haha

  I've seen the invite only thing before. Usually in places with mnay congs where there are more people than seats.

  On the other hand once I saw a dedication in a sports arena since the hall couldln't hold 4 congs at once. I never understood the point of a dedication anyway, much less one that didn't happen at the actual place. Even in I thought that was strange.

  Yeah it's a weird idea for a religion that doesn't really believe in sacred spaces as such.

  Similar fashion with our assembly hall build. I was involved quite a bit and was not invited to the dedication. This was for all the dignitaries, CO, DO. The R&F had a open house of sorts, walk through, check it out and get out. Nepotism rules for sure always has.

  I forgot about the AssHall here is Ga, I was out by then, but I remember my Mother getting an invite to go because she was a pioneer and worked on the construction. Maybe that is just logistics, there isn't enough room for everyone, but sad that rank makes a difference. JWs Definitely have classes and ingroups.

  I have to agree Slim, we were always taught that halls were not sacred, just to be respectful but, it was just a building. Why not have each cong say a special prayer at their next meeting and be done with it.

  The fabled new hall in Corby is to be dedicated tomorrow. This appears to be the only recent new-build in the country to my knowledge and is to be dedicated by His Holiness Cardinal Peter Bell.

  If there are any other new-builds in the UK as opposed to re-furbs or remodelled, repurposed units I would be interested to hear.
