It wasn’t me or Murray who came up with the 5% figure. It was presumably done by people who know how to handle data.
I am not saying society “should” destabilise its long held assumptions. I am saying that it appears to be doing so, and there doesn’t seem to be anything can be done about it, without disrupting the economic causes that produced it in the first place. It’s all very well saying we “shouldn't” change the definitions of words, but it’s happening anyway. You might as well complain about the tide going out. What’s the plan to stop it?
