Son goin to Metallica concert in Dallas,,,,,,OMG

Well the day he and his best buds have been waiting for is here. They are in Dallas going to their first huge concert ,,,,,, I am not sure all the bands that are playing , but it is going to be a once in a lifetime thing.......so I let him go.

I am a little nervous about it , but I am so happy that he is living the life that I never could. I pray and hope they make it home safe and sound,,,,,,,I know I have to let him go little by little, usually I would say , not safe,,,,and say no.

But I wondered how much it would have meant for me to see this huge concert, and have a wonderful road trip with my best friends. How could I say no? LOL

I know he is having a blast and darn the child has one up on me,,,,,,,, I have never been to one concert in my life............ Mama needs to do something about that huh?

I have to go get ready for my MeetUp in a few mins, but I wanted to tell you that I think you did the right thing in letting him go and he'll live up to the trust you and WT have put in him, I know my kids always have.

And, yes, mama needs to get her behind to a concert some day SOON!!! You'll be glad YOU did, too!

I am sure your son will be fine, and safe, and have a great time. No need to worry--ya did a good job!

And yes...Mom totally needs to take a trip to some concert. I can totally see you and Denny rockin out at some outdoor concert and then sneaking off into the bushes like two high school kids. (Did I ever tell you how adorable I think you two are?)

I know exactly what you mean... my son just attended what is now dubbed "Sars Stock"... in Toronto... it was huge! and it was his first concert... He bought his ticket and then told me about it... He was worried that I was going to say no... but how could I? It was the Rolling Stones! and ACDC... and a whole bunch of others.. I was worried because there were going to be over 400,000 people there and I thought if something happened... well, you know how mothers are...and yes... we had a "little" talk... about pick pockets and stuff like that.... lol...

Well, long story short, he had a blast! He loved it! He's still telling me stories about what he saw, what people did and how much he enjoyed the bands... and all of my worries? for not... he's got a level head on his shoulders... besides getting sun burnt.... he did everything he was supposed to... I'm happy that he got to go to a once in a lifetime event and I'm proud of him because he handles his independence well..

I'm sure your son will do you proud too...

Sounds like he went to the Summer Sanitarium Tour with Limp Bizket, Deaftones, Metallica, Lincoln Park and Mudvayne. You are an awesome mom to let him go...as this concert KICKED ASS!!!! Metallica was just awesome and their performance gave me chills. You let your son see our fathers of metal! *hail Metallica*

Metallica rules!!! Your son's gonna have a blast (or, already has!). Hopefully mom had a good time last night too.

My son's getting to that age (yikes!). But, you're right - we have to let them go little by little & trust we taught them the right things. And while its difficult - its very nice when they do the right things, make the right choices & behave like we hope they would.....and it sounds like you've raised a good one Dede (and WT)....so just be proud!

I want to see Metallica too, but I don't think they'll bother touring Tasmania. Maybe when they are much older.

Oh I LOVE Metallica. Seen them 3 times!!! They are awesome and their new c.d. is killer! The 7th song makes me think of the j.w.'s. It's called *Shoot me again, I ain't dead yet* Anyone heard it? The whole c.d. is awesome. Maybe their best yet.

Lyin, your boys should be okay. Metallica draws all kinds of people. You'll see all kinds of people at a Metallica concert. All the way from Hard Rock Head bangers, to preppy yuppies! They will have a blast. They're not coming to Nashville on this tour so I wont get to see them. =:o(
