Alot of discussion referring to the new book released Learning from the Great teacher, and the scene of Armageddon page.

What a pile of garbage, how could the society justify in publishing such pics.

If/when Armageddon comes (which I doubt), it probaly would not take more than one minute. I cannot see people running around screaming in terror, with their clothes torn and beating each other up, like the Watchtower portrays, just another scare tactic for the Watchtower. And why would they even try to portray such as a scene with no basis or info to back it up. Only God knows how the end will come.

    what do you think ???

do you believe in the term Armageddon (as portrayed and taught), or more so in a life after this one ???, or is death our own Armageddon ???

    Good question !

Armageddon is a great religious hoax, designed by leaders to keep their flock in line. Very much like hell !

I don't believe an an Armageddon. I think this world will continue on and until a stellar object from outer space distroys the planet or our sun will burn out in the next millions of years. I base more of my beliefs on science nowadays.

I don't believe the WTS had much accurate in any of their teachings, so I certainly don't believe in an armageddon that destroys all but witnesses. If there is a second coming, a rapture, or an armageddon, I am sure it will be much different and awe inspiring than we even have a clue.

NO!! Not in the way they teach anyway. I was thinking about this earlier this morning and I think if there was an armageddon, God would destroy all those claiming to be the truth (i.e. all religions) because by their actions, they dishonour him and "stumble" people (which is a death penalty in itself). I think he would save everyone who tries to be good and kind. I don't think that a perfect God would need to be worshipped all the time - after all only humans need that sort of power. I think he would be happy that people are trying to be good and kind and live their lives peacefully. People that don't try and gain power over others for their own benefits. People that don't try and gain position in the congregation by being a regular pioneer or an elder. People that don't always think they are better than everyone else. What's the word, oh yeah, HUMBLE.

Personally, I think armageddon will be something that we do ourselves, either by nuclear wars or by environmental breakdowns. Whatever it is, I'll do my best to live my life without doing harm to anyone else, and take my chances.

I think the jws teach a very graphic, very literal interpretaion of Armageddon, according to what they read in Revelation. But Revelation was written in signs, so who knows? I have no theories as to what the big A might be or when it might come.

Anyone who believes in the Bible can not escape the fact that it speaks of God's judgment throughout its pages. Human justice recognizes the principle of punishment for wrong doing. In the human court system a person has to undergo a trial, a sentence and the punishment. So, why should we be surprised that God who is JUST would use this means to accomplish his purpose?

I think a lot of the criticism of the pictures in the new Watchtower publication falls short. The Bible itself is rather graphic in its description of past judgements upon mankind. (Flood, Sodom & Gomorrah, etc.) And children see much more violence on TV than on a few pages of a publication. Many of the "fairy tales" that are illustrated are as bad.

Perhaps, the Watchtower could have used a little more descretion in a book designed for children. But I've also noticed that children seem to have a fascination with these kind of pictures. It was the first thing my children wanted to see when I studied the Paradise book with them years ago. Let's not make a tempest in the teapot.
