Perhaps you're right but I always thought that "fulfilled prophecy" was how they grew the religion after Russel died. That and prophesying that 1925 would bring a government ruled by ancient worthies who would be wowed by modern technology. LOL

Maybe you're right I guess people in the early 1900s were easy targets for religious scammers. If you read some of the stuff Rutherford wrote back then you'll realize just how ignorant people were and how much unquestioning respect they had for anything related to the Bible. -

World War I started because Europe was a powder keg waiting to blow up. In retrospect, its a bit surprising it didn't start with the Balkan Wars in 1912 and 1913. If it had not started in 1914 something would have set it off in that time frame. Whatever happened they would have found a way to spin it as fulfillment of prophecy.

Ironic is it not that a religious organization that made so many false proclamations/doctrines has the audacity to ostracize and proclaim other christian based faiths were false practicing faiths.
The Watchtower Corporation was always a deviously corrupt religious publishing house.
