I feel that Juan Gabriel was more on the level of a U.S. Justin Timberlake.
The Michael Jackson of Mexico is without question Vicente Fernandez Sr.
Now if that man died, Mexico would probably shut down. Kinda like having a head of state pass.

Chente and Juanga are not in the same category. They may have the same fame, but can't be compared. One is the greatest ranchera songs interpreter with a very long career (about 50 years), the other was an extremely prolific song writer/singer in a very wide spectrum of latino music, also with a very long career (almost 50 years). You can compare Juanga to Joan Sebastian. It works well. They have parallel careers and same level of success.
Justin Timberlake?...pleeease. Not even close
