Only the very best people become Atheists. The kind of people who don't torment others with religious nonsense like "It would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea".
There is a bit of conflict here as Jesus taught that we must love our neighbour as ourselves but then the WT practices shunning which is based on conditional love.
