The reason that the WT joined the UN is very simple.

    The WT is a whore.

Anyone interested in a detailed discussion of the W.T./U.N. relationship should check the following site, which addresses all these apologetic claims:

    http://www.randytv.com/secret/unitednations.htm

The apologist states: "The original principles and goals expressed in the U.N. charter are 'to maintain international peace and security; to suppress acts of aggression that threaten worldly peace...' There isn't anything here which compromises our beliefs as Christians...Additionally, the W.T. has previously called the U.N. objectives 'noble.' "

Now, how can these objectives be noble for the W.T., especially in view of the fact that the U.N. on occasion sends "armies into the field to resolve international disputes, as in Korea, the Sinai Peninsula, some African countries, and Lebanon?" See Revelation Its Grand Climax At Hand! page 254

The real concern of the W.T. was to obtain U.N. recognition that would support JW rights and freedom worldwide. But why do they not follow their own advise and "wait upon Jehovah" rather than on a human agency that they abhor and consign to destruction? Pages 248 and 254

As to using the U.N. library, they didn't have to become an NGO for that in the first place. Now that they have returned their card, what libraries will they frequent? Doesn't seem that the U.N. library was really that essential to the W.T. and it would have saved them from a scandal. Maybe they should have just stuck to the Bible.

If there was nothing wrong with being an NGO of the UN, then why did the Society remove its NGO status after their NGO status was publicized?

What happen to you if your local congragation Presiding Overseer (PO elder) caught a library card fall-off from your wallet. On that UN-release LiBrary Card has UN-emblem and your registered name on it. You will be polited invite to the small room at the back of your KingDumb Hall for sure.

The criteria for 1967 is not changed at all (we can confirm it by the UN approval list some new NGO in 1992, I post TRY ME" above) why we think DPI of UN change their policy in year 1991 only (to suit WTS ?) then back to the long time policy until today 2003 ?

    To become A NGO (1968)

Go to Here then scroll down and click NGO 27 May 1968 compare with following fax from UN

Don't you just hate it when the WTS leadership gets caught with its hands in the cookie jar.

Excellent. Thank you for that link. Trevor Scott simply puts Schmitz Heinz out of his misery there.

What I didn't know, was how the WTS slagged Israel for using the UN and related institutions for "defending human rights", which is the noble purpose supposedly behind the WTS' duplicity in fornicating with that very scarlet-colored wild beast!

It is apparent that the WTS will stoop to no end of hypocrisy in order to further it's own goals in stifling "persecution" (like Bulgaria) and promoting the "preaching of the Good News of the Kingdom" where a butcher in the sky takes out over 99.9% of the planet's population...

Obviously, "defending human rights" and "freedom of religion" and other noble UN goals are only supposed to be for WTS' consumption, under their purview. Everyone else need not apply.

That was a good article. It would have been nice if he nailed him with the 1991 Watchtower article - "Their refuge - Is a Lie!" and added the full Robert Muller quote.

But in my mind, this essay at Randy's site was well thought out and one of the best articles I have seen bitch slapping some one who supports the WTS all the way.
