Oh gosh. . . .I was floored when I first came to this site and saw the Smurf stories. I had always thought it was just a local thing.

I remember our CO (Robert Hahn) talking about Smurfs and My Little Pony in the 80s. He even told the congregation about a demon possessed My Little Pony that raped a little witness girl.

What a fucked up world we grew up in!

Well I believe if the GB did not actually say anything publicly they did support this kind of thing. Just look at what they did to poor old Spurlock. Done in Arcadia Fl. in the 80s there was a guy who came to meetings but was not really a dubber. He would wear a smurf pin on the back of his suit lapel where he could flip it up to show the hangers on like me. LOL

Yeah...one tale was of a kid with a smurf at a public talk and the toy hopped out of the kids hand and trotted down the aisle to disrupt the blessedly spiritual dialogue of the speaker...obviously a demon harassing truth seekers....

I remember a circuit overseer saying parents shouldn't let their children see E.T. because in the opening scene the children pictured are playing Dungeons & Dragons.

I remember laughing too because our family used to watch the light hearted American comedy "Bewitched" about Samantha the witch with the twitchy nose. And then in a public talk about spiritism the speaker used Bewitched as an example of how subtle Satan the Devil was in luring children away to interest them in the dark arts.

Looking back I now realise so many things I heard from the platform was paranoid rubbish.

Hey, COs and elduhs have given talks about other TV shows and films (i.e., The Munsters, Dream Of Jeannie, The Addams Family, various Hanna-Barbera cartoons, Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel and DC superhero flicks, etc.).

Anything and everything, so that the GB could still control the minds of JDub children and their parents; plus since these films cost $$$$ to see in the theatres and/or buy in DVD, the H8teful Eight want these funds to go into their pockets instead!
