My great granddad met Abraham Lincoln when he was a boy. When I was a kid I met him, he was 100+.
So according to the generation teaching I knew Lincoln.

Brilliant 👌
The generation teaching, not so much.
Yes, I have thought the same thing. I am the generation that saw the Civil War.
Abraham Lincoln was of the generation that saw a man on the moon.
Yea. I get it ... lol.
Reminds me of the last widow from the confederate war who died in 2004 and received the longest pension from that war. Talk about overlapping generations, she met her husband of 81 years old when she was 21 in the 1920,s and produced one son. In 1996 Alabama cut off all payments to widows from that war, but she was reinstated and continued receiving payment till 2004 when she died at 97.
I walked past this statue of Lincoln every time I walked home from Jr. High School in 1969. Sometimes I would pass it in the morning and in the afternoon thereby 'overlapping' my contact with the statue in the same day. Does that count?
True story: My history teacher was a distant relative of Lincoln. In fact, his last name was Lincoln. That would make road to nowhere and I contemporaries of the Lincoln family.

According to WT overlapping logic, you couldn't say you actually knew Lincoln but you certainly could claim to be of the same generation as he was. That being the case, you should meet as many young people as possible so that they too can make the same claim.
And because you are alive now, and are part of the same generation as Lincoln, that means Lincoln is a member of the Facebook generation.
My wife is a direct descendant of captain John Webster of the May Flower. By that thinking she is of the same generation of those early settlers of our country. That's why she is a herbalist aka witch by there terms back then. LoL Still Totally ADD
