You must have just kept interrupting them and not letting them make their point. Because any JW could answer that the difference between the destruction at the Flood and at Armageddon is that Jehovah has since sacrificed Jesus for our sins and we won't be continuing on as sinful humans after the next destruction of the wicked, but must apply that sacrifice and then we will have our unintentional sinfulness removed, which never happened to Noah's offspring.

And then, "Well, why did God do it back then if He hadn't sacrificed Jesus yet?"

Because the world was TOO wicked and it was part of preparing the way for Jesus to be born into the world.

It doesn't even have to make sense to the brain, what JW's will say. But they know how to say it.

If the dialogue wasn't an exercise in just constantly barraging them with piled on thoughts, then it was your exercise in creative writing, because I am confident that JW's today, no matter how bad they have gotten, will think they could answer such questions.

My take on Bill was a whole lot different after the evening was over than before.

He had an Observer/Scientist vibe going on. All the JW's I grew up with would have taken the reins. Something different happened last night.

I doubt there is a new policy. I don't think it is personality either. The paranoid side of me (which occurs when I'm in the company of Da Bruthas) brings that out in me--sort of like having a squad car pull up beside you at a red light. You know that feeling?

I begin to wonder..."Do they know I'm Apostate and are reconnoitering?
Nobody put up even a moderate pushback.
Is this the NEW freestyle technique?

    What's really going on?
If I ever hear back I might get more info. I know a young brother still in who is awake. I asked him if he knew these Brothers. He doesn't. He's going to try and find out something. It's good to have a mole :)

Why Terry....why.....does it really matter in the grand scheme of things what repartee you indulge in with these poor misguided souls? They stand responsible for their lives and decisions..you for yours. All it amounts to is a little amusement....

What's strange now to realize is how we were convinced to do cult recruiting while calling it preaching the good news. And when someone was not recruitable (wanted to reason and actually discuss things),we would write them off as not being drawn by Jehovah / bad heart / bird food.

We would write someone off as worthy of death for not responding to our canned sales pitch. Unbelievable.

Good ol' earl got his ass chewed out for wasting bills time on a return visit on someone with a brain

Good ol' earl got his ass chewed out for wasting bills time on a return visit on someone with a brain without a good heart condition. Anyone who doesn't listen to JWs and get dunked immediately simply has a bad heart condition. Jehovah is not "choosing" any such person to be his follower.

I know what you mean about time wasting.
But I have had one big successful intervention.

I can't give you his actual name. He's still inside and in good stead. He's not ready to have his JW family disown him. But he is fully awake and very intelligent about his research, his questions, and the conclusions. ALL OF WHICH began when I walked over to him as he witnessed to a workmate.
I'm very very grateful I did that. It meant the difference between one life and another for this young man.
He comes to see me every week. We talk about life. We play chess sometimes. We go for a bite to eat. He's like a son to me. ALL BECAUSE I got up and walked over and interrupted his life with sunlight.

I'm driven by the slim notion this could happen again. Why? It is an undefinable "feeling" about Earl. At the risk of sounding like a lunatic, I'll compare it to the tingle you get when you see somebody you think you're falling in love with. Yeah yeah--I know, I know--a stupid analogy. (I'm not gay.)
Yet, it's mysterious and almost inevitable--except nothing but death is inevitable. It is a magic only possible IF YOU ACT and say the right things and do the right things.

That's the only explanation and it's not a very good one.

Terry I think you are awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this experience and wish my mind worked as sharply as yours.

and all the wicked animals too like bunny rabbits, deer, kittens,

This made me smile then got me thinking Terry, why kill all those animals at the flood and why plan an Armaggedon to kill the wicked? Why couldn't he just stop the hearts of the wicked ones and make them vanish? Save all that fire, brimstone and mess. He's the creator of the universe isn't he and fire and flood is such a messy solution, apart from as you so clearly showed a waste of time.

Indeed. We dont even have to theorize about his abilities as creator with regard to these things. The fair tale of hezikiah where the desert god is said to have killed 144,000 asyrians without a sound. Or when he is said to have killed all the first borns egypt in one night without a sound. Those events make the claim that he can and did terminate huge numbers of people both selectively and immediately. The flood was a waste.
