@Closer: The decisions in these cases are completely arbitrary, there are no hard and fast rules for these situations. Most likely, if they are deemed 'repentant' they will be 'reproved/restricted' for a while and then nothing else comes of it.
It is entirely possible that the male person will not be considered for any sort of position for a lot longer, which is again arbitrarily decided, it could simply be that they will wait until the first partner gets remarried or until it gets forgotten about.
Best case scenario, if it's deemed a really egregious case and "everyone knows about it" or they are "unrepentant", they will get publicly reproved or even disfellowshipped for a while, there is little difference practically between both designations, technically you are allowed as a JW to talk to reproved people but it's strongly discouraged.
The thing is that there is no defense, no attorneys, no laws to research. The process is entirely up to the three people that signed the letter.
