Perhaps busywork can divert one's mind.

But then, "field service", especially pioneering, can be stressful and embarrassing, and allot of work with nothing to show for it.

This pinches an extremely sensitive nerve for me because I actually experienced this kind of "Comfort" when my 21yo son died in an accident. Rather than offering any real sympathy or help 2 of my relatives sent cards giving me (of all things) COUNSEL to strap on a bookbag and get preaching so that I would be able to see him again.

Mind you, hubby and I were exemplary JW's at the time! Those insulting and hurtful words at least helped me to begin to wake up!

Go out and offer solutions to wordly people yet on your home front there is a great loss that may never heal . A lot of love and compassion is what is needed for a long time. Fraudulent religion probably didn't even do a proper funeral.

    That paragraph 13 is sickening!

"True Friends"? haha! What a misleading statement. It should have read "Conditional friends" based on the perceived level of "spirituality" you seem to have!

Field service is the WT's answer to everything -- loss, loneliness, apostasy in the family, temptation...

There's nothing that can't be fixed by putting in more time faithfully serving the borg.

Yep...when did you ever hear of anyone with a product or service to sell, recommend that you not use it? If you go to a surgeon with an illness 9 times out of 10 he's going to want to operate on you cause that's what he does.

Can you imagine seeing a Watchtower where they recommended to those who find themselves overly tired or feeling burned out, to take a break from pioneering, service or meetings? Everyone knows that to do something long term, you need to pace yourself and take breaks, however it would be unthinkable for them to recommend such a thing. It's always more more more....even more if it's the worst thing you could do.

I attended a witness funeral. He was a dear old fella of who I had a great fondness. Immediately after the service at the crematorium a sister was asking about field service arrangements. It was like being hit with a brick.

Just recently I attended another and the racket made by witnesses jabbering on as the deceased arrived was appalling they barely shut up as the coffin was wheeled in.

My Mother died 8 years ago and all I heard was to get out and get involved with the org again, that would help. Really ?

People that I'd known couldn't even call on the phone, or stop off and say something.

One witness at the hall told my wife, " when he comes back to the meetings, we'll talk to him about his Mom."

that time period REALLY showed me the true colors of the jw population.

I never set foot in their halls again.

A way for the article writers to help underscore their attempt to identify the biblical Hannah with their fictitious "Ann" in the readers mind.

When I saw the girl being helped was named "Paula" I left off reading looking for some mention of Paul and BAM. Yep theres the reference to Paul. LOL

Thats a great find I would never have picked that up.

The deceptions the WT articles go to and decieve their readers is evil and knows no bounds.

you dont notice all the little "tie ins" and cross overs they are throwing at you.

thanks for bringing this to my attention millie210

    ,i`m sure others will also.
