Jason Zelda I had never heard of before. Seems to be a garden-variety Christian who believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of deity.
So - I wouldn't have wasted my time - EXCEPT - I always give people at least three minutes to capture my interest.
JZ's manner of gravity or gravitas struck me as utterly sincere.
Then, he began pulling threads together (familiar to all Ex-JW's) in a way that became spellbinding.
So - I stuck around.
I put wireless earbuds in my earholes and began playing video Chess online while listening.
As a communicator - he pretty much held my attention and taught me something about rapport and evidence presentation.

His Theses is quite bold and not outside the realm of believably.
He explains why JW's are not what they appear on the surface; illustrating how they are a cult; how they demand utter obedience; how they withhold communication from the outside world from members, and - ultimately
create a safe haven for criminals and pathological miscreants such as child molesters.
Next, he shows the proof in layers of evidence, how disingenuous the leaders of the WT are in testifying before courts and feeding their slanted side of things to an all-too-willing Press.
Finally, his RUSSIA theses main argument becomes evident.
Because the WT has used letter-writing campaigns to overload the system of their targets (religious enemies) by ordering such a deluge of letters (while under investigation for hiding pedophiles) the breakdown due to deliberate overload would CHANGE THE NARRATIVE worldwide from the victimizer religion (protecting pedophiles) to a martyred and oppressed innocent religion
under onslaught for those awful Rooskies who tamper with elections.
(His tying in the willingness of the Press to accept this is brilliant.

It's a WAG THE DOG scenario.
I recommend the video for his PEFORMANCE and DELIVERY which I must say is quite spectacular.
No need to watch it for the info - the delivery is superb.

I watched most of it, and he talked about why Russia ban on the JW, and it was over the files on the criminal who are hiding in the organization (murders, pedos, rapists, and so on). Russia spent something like 10 years investigating the JWs, and they were paying attention to what other countries were going through with them.

Just a kind of a 'hype video', as for me. Kill almost 2hrs of one's time to deliver his speculative and ignorant opinion.

It's no secret WT behaves crazy. Still, it's not an excuse for Russia's crazy persecution (BTW, Russia persecutes, and tortures a whole lot of other people/religions/organizations - not JWs only).

I agree Putin is probably jealous of the Governing Body’s total and absolute control over the Witnesses. He wishes he had even one third that control over the Russian people :(

However, StillMS, Jason Zelda is FAR from ignorant. In fact he’s extremely knowledgeable aboutWatchtower and is one of, if not THE OG when it comes to you tubers on the subject of Jehovahs Witnesses. I also find him very compassionate.

I haven't watched it yet, but Terry, I found your explanation of it interesting.

I haven't really thought about the letter writing before, and what the real reasons for spamming letters are.

I always thought about it as a feel good exercise for the average jw and especially the children, as a way a family could write their beliefs down, send it overseas and find yet another way to indoctrinate their kids.

But it sounds like the idea of a mis-information / misdirection campaign makes sense too. Nothing the GB does would surprise me.
