Good news bad news pandemic and Kingdom Halls.

First the bad news, coming out of Israel - one of the first countries to push total vaccination. The news is the vaccine especially the Pfizer one looks like it wears off and hospital rates have gone up for those that have been vaccinated.

This maybe a problem for the other vaccines as well. If your not hearing this in the mainstream press don’t be surprised.

Now the good news, this may mean no going back to the halls for a LONGGGGGG TIME ----if ever.

Who would have guess, that a virus that has so far killed 4,708,737 people WORLD WIDE, heading for two years----Stopped COMPLETELY--the Door to Door life saving work and Prevented JWs World Wide from meeting together --- to encouraging one another, and all the more so as they see the day drawing near

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE VIRUS CONTINUES FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS? WILL THERE BE AN INCENTIVE TO JUST CLOSE AND SELL ALL THE KINGDOM HALLS?

Very few I suspect. They will just say it's evidence that we really are near the end. We've been waiting for this for years. There's none so blind as those who don't want to see.

I am kind of curious why they are not claiming the pandemic is signs of the times. They have always said the 1918 flu was a fulfillment of Matt 24, so why not this one?

Because the GB knows how stupid that would look when the members checked and compared.

Covid pandemic has killed so far in one and a half years-- 4 million plus--- WORLDWIDE--mostly elderly and sick out of a World Population of about 8 BILLION

1918 flu; The number of deaths was estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide

Mortality was high in ALL people not just the elderly. Young and old were infected and died. The high mortality in healthy people, including those in the 20-40 year age group, was a unique feature of this pandemic.

50 million deaths worldwide in a litter under 2 years, with a World Population of LESS than 2 BILLION is a REAL PANDEMIC--------

when you compared it to 4 million plus deaths of elderly and sickly in a population of about 8 BILLION

No doubt about it...those who make up the WT 'think tank' are in a quandary about what to do next...I'm sure someone in this decision-making group has at least said something along the lines: 'We're damned it we do and damned if we don't'!

Either way...this cult's numbers are gonna continue to spiral downward. There was a recent virtual Circuit Assembly held in my area where they boasted close to 6,000 in attendance with a measly 4 baptized...and you guessed it...all were born-in youngsters! The Circuit Overseer was soo embarrassed/disappointed by this very low baptismal number that he didn't bother to mention or welcome them into the Fold in his closing prayer. The pool of future JW baptismal candidates is drying up so fast that very soon it's going to become a permanent drought-like situation for WT in terms of new converts. The end result will be that there's going to be a less and less need for Kingdom Halls.

Israel. About 600 people are in the hospital with COVID and about 300 of them had their vaccinations.
Another 5.7 million people had their vaccinations and are not in the hospital.

Sounds okay to me. Vaccinations are not a guarantee against COVID. They reduce the odds that someone will get COVID somewhat and extremely reduce the odds of a serious case if one does gets it.

@OnTheWayOut: The data from Israel suggest that the vaccines do not reduce the odds. Being in the hospital was considered a 'severe case of COVID' pre-vaccines and that was what the vaccines were supposed to prevent if not prevent the infection altogether (like any other regular vaccine would). If 50% of the people in the hospital have had the vaccines in a population where 80% are vaccinated (and for all intents and purposes, group immunity should've been reached) the odds of reducing aren't all that good.

The people in wheelchairs from polio were the "non-severe" polio cases. Do you think people would've found the vaccine to be successful if you had only a 50/50 chance of it preventing a "severe" case but only if you stayed home from work forever and lived in a bubble for the rest of your life and the disease continued putting people in wheelchairs and keeps infecting and killing those that work outside the home?

No, people would've said the vaccines do nothing at all at preventing polio, and moved on. We knew about germ theory well before vaccines, nobody suggested we should live forever in a bubble in order to never get sick.

Doesn't it seem strange to you that the ENTIRE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT 5 MILLION IMMIGRANTS SPREADING OUT ACROSS THE ENTIRE COUNTRY--AND NONE OF THEM HAVE BEEN VACCINATED--AND JUST ABOUT ALL OF THEM HAVE COVID--

None of the 5 MILLION are required to get tested, wear a mask, or practice social distancing.

and a lot of them didn't wear masks and several got Covid, but nobody got real sick. And none of them were afraid of dying.

Why was the postal system in the entire USA, EXEMPTED FROM GETTING THE VACCINE? And yet all the postal workers are the ones that are spreading Covid as they deliver the mail to EVERYONE???

Why are the majority of Celebrities - Movie Stars exempted from the vaccine or wearing masks? Only if they feel like it or want to publicize it for advertisement.

Why do Democratic Governors like Gavin Newsom, who enforce strict lockdown policies and Vaccine mandates, spurn the mask and vaccines PERSONALLY FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY?????

How was it that theTaliban was able to take over Afghanistan, kick the USA out- (The world's fiercest Military,) Confiscated billions of dollars worth of U.S. Military Equipment, start changing the entire political system, etc., ----WITHOUT GETTING VACCINATED AND WEARING A MASK???

And now a TON OF HEALTH CARE WORKER ARE BEING EXEMPT FROM TAKING THE VACCINE.

THESE ARE NURSES, DOCTORS THAT ARE IN THE FRONT LINES TREATING COVID PATIENTS.

It has been confirmed - that the vaccine is very effective at producing BIAS statistics.

The problem with statistics is that they often don't provide the full data and even if they do, people don't know how to interpret it.

I'm guessing this is based on some stats that the majority of those in hospital with Covid are vaccinated?

The knee-jerk reaction to that is often "OMG, see - vaccines DON'T WORK!!!"

But is that what the stats really tell you?

How many people are in hospital, and happen to have Covid, but are not hospitalized due to covid?

How many are in hospital due to Covid but are not in the morgue due to Covid?

If the people who didn't get vaccinated all die, then the stats for the vaccinated look really bad by comparison, but at that point we're probably comparing the wrong thing.

What really matters - hospital occupancy or deaths?
