Getting a college education doesn't guarantee things like higher income. If taken seriously though, it does mean you will be better educated. And education is the antidote to all things that Jehovah's Witnesses spew.
They'd love for JW's to have successful businesses so that they can donate more money. Please don't think this is about money. It's about what college teaches most people who pass through their doors, the ability to think critically for themselves. That is kryptonite for the GB

I agree with you that the religion's hating of college is about their fear of the critically thinking people that college turns out. (This is not to say that a person has to attend college to become a critical thinker - a well-read person can do this on their own.)
The bottom line is that the religion has a not-very-noble reason for discouraging its members from getting a college education. And their stupid fluff about dangers of studying Evolution, etc. is just an excuse..As I said in an earlier post (sarcastically) that if you get an education and it benefits the religion, that's good. If it is to benefit YOU, that's bad because YOUR smarts hurt THEM.
Years ago an elder admitted to me that brothers with college education are harder to counsel and have less humility. So, this is what their stupid stand is about.

They don't want you educated because the higher your educated the less likely you will be intimidated and you start to think for yourself. Your life will be more successful and easier.
When your a cleaner or a window washer then life is difficult and unsatisfying in the world..Just like the WT wants you to believe. Similar to the lower educated employees who must submit to their bosses or be threaten to lose everything.

So to have some of their dumbed down flock getting a education higher than standard free governmental school indoctrination,, they will lose these subservient drones.
