The reasons for which the Founding Fathers created the Electoral College are no longer relevant. Modern technology allows voters to get necessary information to make informed decisions in a way that could not have been foreseen by the Founding Fathers.

Voters are dumber today than perhaps any time in history.
Many get their "news" from SNL, Jimmy Fallon, and other late night talk show hosts.
Most could not pass an 8th Grade "Constitution Test".
Besides, the news you may be receiving might not be so accurate! It’s typically biased.
The argument about the "small states" needing more power is ridiculous.
The "small states" already have 2 senators just like the big states.
For example, each senator in Wyoming (pop. 500,000) represents 250,000 or so people.
In California (pop. 40,000,000), each senator represents about 20 million people.
The numbers are already skewed towards the smaller states.
I guess they want everything.

Maybe if they get 16 year olds to vote , the new young indoctrinated voters will overturn the EC. Even if they have nothing to do with changing the EC😁
Exactly, Minimus. I saw that on the news yesterday, that they want to lower the voting age to 16, along with removing the electoral college. There was something else the wanted to reform as well, cant remember. Anyway, Such an obvious grab at democratic votes, imo. If you're afraid you can't win with the rules already in place, change the rules! What a novel idea... =/
